Contract Sr. Consultant (Former Employee) –  Mississauga CA22 May 2018
The experience of working in Canada was priceless. And working for Symcor was positively delightful. The employees were friendly and amicable, helpful when you needed help and knowledgeable about their business and had a clear sense of what they wanted. I believe I met and surpassed their goals in accordance with our contract.
Pros
Great work environment and wonderful people.

Data Entry Operator (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB28 July 2018
Cheque processing is an extremely fast paced job, where the more accuracy and speed you gain, the more bonus you earn. It is a perfect job for a student, or a part time position.

late hours

Very productive department
Workflow coordinator II (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC26 February 2018
I found the workflow/cheque clearings department at Symcor to be a very productive department with very few errors made on daily basis.

In 2017, I lost my employment at Symcor due to the cheque clearings process becoming automated.

Most of time, I was directing those I worked with, even though I was not considered a 'supervisor'.
Pros
Challenging work
Cons
Sometimes, project leaders lacked leadership (and management) qualities.

OK place to work
Project Manager, Customer Communication Services (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON11 December 2017
HR talks a lot about work/life balance but management is hands-off and doesn't seem to be on board with the concept. Management spends a lot of time managing up and playing politics.

Poor Management - everyone has their own agenda
Admin (Former Employee) –  Mississauga20 March 2016
I worked there for 3 years before being let go as a result of restructuring. Senior Management care very little about the people who actually do the work - they are more concerned for their own jobs and in particular - their status. I had to do a lot of personal errands for my bosses - getting meals, coffee etc. They had no idea of the work I was doing nor did they care as long as they were fed and watered - they should have hired a waitress. The company is going through MAJOR change and it seems a lot of jobs that are here today could very well be gone tomorrow. If you're not concerned about job security then go ahead and work here but if you are looking to build a career this definitely not the place to be. While the world is moving to a paperless environment Symcor would not exist without paper - that's their business and its dwindling quickly.
