Rogers Care Support, Wireless and Cable, CEL Agent. in Work from Home

Good
Just like any other call centre sometimes the customers suck plain and simple. If you can't deal with that then this is going to be no difference. work from home is nice and the major reason why I applied. I've been working here for almost 3 years and still employed however changes to the management and constant changes to what we can and cannot do for the customers it does get trying at times.

Fast-paced work culture
The training provided was excellent. It's a work from home job with emphasis on customer service. The hours fly by, however the management could do better at communication and being more responsive towards employees.

Bad Training
I waited over a month to start the Training; and on the second day, the Trainer locked out anyone who was late! I understand that tardiness should not be tolerated, but as a past manager, I understand that life happens, and a little toleration is needed sometimes! I was only ONE minute late because my laptop had to do an update, ( I didn't get the work computer that was supposed to be delivered yesterday, and so I had to use my personal one, and didn't worry about the updates beforehand). When I tried to get in the adobe room, a message appeared that the Trainer has locked the room. This is day two of orientation, our training starts on Monday! Don't waste your time. The Trainer has a God-Complex, and if this is any indication of the Company as a whole, I'm glad that I didn't waste any more time!

Un modèle d'affaires non éthique, environnement de travail très stressant, des attentes irréalistes.
Do you like working under constant pressure, unable to genuinely help clients because the company only wants you to answer a big amount of calls instead, to avoid hiring more people so they can meet unrealistic call stats, provide an unethical-compromising quality service just to meet call stats? The company culture relies on fast and forward mentality, so many clients need genuine-attentive trouble shooting assistance but the company culture does not allow it, because when you have the needed time to help someone, you use critical thinking, something that is not allowed at Sykes, it is mass production, exhausting schedule with a break time used to log in and out, so, very little time is left for your pause, always rushing, taking insults from unhappy clients whose problems never get to be resolved because of the company needs to meet call stats, consequently employees must adhere to, in order to save their job. You get the picture, total unethical business model, very bad pay, little time provided for assimilating the training done under a very short period of time especially for the huge amount of information / knowledge required for one to master.
