Switchboard Operator/ Guest Services
Switchboard Operator (Former Employee) –  Vancouver BC10 July 2014
Getting ready for a busy day with guests requests and the switchboard where it is constantly busy. Calls have to be answered & transferred on a timely manner. Setting up wake up calls for guests.

I learned a lot about the 5 star hotel business and guest services. Being very professional at all times and having a smile on always. Helping guests with their requests promptly when needed.

The hardest part of the job would be working Graveyard shifts when it was quiet time at times and helping with monitoring the hotel.

The most enjoyable part of the job was helping guests above and beyond their needs where I was awarded.

Good place to work, good people to work with.
Maintenance Worker (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC13 November 2012
A typical day at work was to maintain all components of a building envelope,ie;check all machines and do repairs as needed.Change air filters, oil all motors on AHU's@water,recirculating pumps.Keep pool and hot tub at proper chlorine and ph levels.Assist guests with any problems they might inncur ie;plugged toilet, fix tv problems, change light bulbs etc.
The hardest part was fixing all the hot water leaks as there were alot
inside the walls and ceilings.
My fellow workers easy to work with and were willing to give a hand when and if needed.
Management for the most part was easy to deal with but sometimes did not realize you cant just leave an area you are working in to go change a light bulb in a corridor, lobby, etc.
Pros
was close to home, hot meals provided, meeting all kinds of different people@ every day was a different challenge.
Cons
doing shift work, my days off as i had tues.&wed.
