A great place to get experience in a fast paced environment. Long shifts (12 hours) good benefits and good wages increases.
Uncomfortable uniforms and small staff seating area. No sink or washroom.
Pros
Fast paced

good place to start out as an agent
LEVEL ONE AGENT (Former Employee) –  Vernon, BC13 July 2018
Typical day at work can be fast paced or extremely slow. I learned Autoplan inside/out, and some private insurance companies. Co-workers are helpful and awesome, saw many come and go during my time there. Management lacks personnel training, no understanding of job/life/balance and management made working conditions difficult. Management had constant critiquing over everything with minimum praise, threats of withholding commissions, verbally abusive. Difficulties with payroll information, benefits.
Pros
good training for Autoplan
Cons
long hours, including evenings, weekends and stat holidays

Don't work here!!!
Insurance Broker (Former Employee) –  Duncan, BC8 June 2018
The shifts are 9am-9pm, opening to closing. No breaks, no lunch rooms and no desks to sit at with your client. You stand at the counter until there is nobody else to help. You eat lunch at your desk while people at the counter can watch while being helped by a co-worker. No privacy anywhere. Staff turn over is HUGE! If you have no kids, no spouse, no friends and no life, you should apply 👍

A starter
Insurance Advisor (Former Employee) –  B.C11 June 2017
Started at Sussex, first job, learned great ICBC Transactions and helping great client

Auto Insurance was the every day norm,

Management was okay, listened and guided to succeed, hardest part was during that time no benefits were provided and had to submit hours of work manually.

Enjoyable part was a mix of staff and client and the distance to my place.

Hardest part was, the office was mostly Auto based and road running, opportunities to learn Habitational and even commercial was not present
Pros
Christmas parties and free food, great mix of staff
Cons
no opportunities to learn other insurance products

Do NOT work for this company. 12 hour shifts with no breaks even when there are many agents working. Below average wages, do not pay overtime or correct salary for stat holidays. No room for advancement, very uncomfortable office, filthy dirty, have to eat at desks with customers watching while standing in line,
