Don’t waste your time here

Telemarketer (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 20 April 2023

There are other companies out that are way more organized than at perimeter. You’ll be worked down and mentally exhausted by the end the day. You’ll be talked down by management as if you just a pawn in a chess board. This place has to be the one of the most unprofessional companies I’ve had to work for. Please do yourself a favour and don’t risk your mental sanity working here

It feels really good to work here! Everyone is super supportive, and welcoming. Studying as a full-time student and working at the same time often gets stressful but the management did an excellent job accommodating the schedule. If you're someone who is worried about working alongside studying, at Super Value, you will be understood. The best thing about this place is that the management helps you reach your personal and career goals.

An exciting workplace with lots of opportunity for advancement

I have worked for this company for 7 years collectively. I have always found the owners and management to be patient, understanding, and easy to communicate with. There are many opportunities for cross-training and advancement within the company. The owners have always shown a willingness to help me find a spot within the company where I can be happy and successful. I have worked in many different roles within the company both in the office and as a field technician. In every position I have been in within the company my experience has always been positive. I frequently recommend Super Value as a place of employment for friends and family throughout the years. My oldest daughter is excited about starting work in a few years and I will not hesitate to get her set up with a job at Super Value as I know I can trust them to treat her well and help her to succeed.

The people who work here are fantastic! Very helpful and knowledgeable, a few of them have been here for almost/over a decade and they are all very happy to share their experience. Overall the atmosphere is very positive and energetic and low pressure, makes for a very comfortable workplace and I always look forward to coming to work!

stay away

overall i enjoyed helping the clients but it's very sales based and felt bad for the home owner/clients that couldn't afford certain products or services, expect to work 10 hr plus shifts and if you are a tec you are 100% commission based on jobs completed and sales.

Pros

you learn good people skills that you end up teaching yourself.

Cons

work 6 days a week and no life balance.

Yes there are some longer days but we always strive to balance those longer days with shorter days and compensate accordingly. It is important to us that our employees get days off when needed and always try to work with them to balance their schedules when requested. As a business we do focus on sales and to provide the most value to our clients with the services we offer. We also seek to do our best to make things work for our clients when money is an issue and provide many options for them that are not common in the industry. We do have a mixture of commission based and hourly based positions. We want to put our employees in positions where they have the best opportunity to thrive and to reach their goals. Please avoid working there. I agree with other former employees. You're given extremely high expectations for the minimum wage. The months I worked there were the most miserable time in my life. Management do not care about their employees, only care about the business.

Work your butt off for free

I never got paid and I worked here for about 2 months. The management is stuck up and is very bad at creating a bond with her employees. I don’t recommend this job to anyone.

Long hours with barely any breaks and 0$ pay days lol.

Carpet/Duct Cleaner (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 10 January 2020

I started out as a carpet/Duct cleaner assistant. The work itself wasn't the worst thing, but the vans are old and in bad shape. The equipment was a joke. Just about everything had Duct tape on it. I also did some cold calling. People are nice, but the work was terrible. Pay is bad. The potential for good money is there, but only by up selling expensive extras. If you aren't up selling, the money is worse than the assistants.

Hard working and out-going workers

You walk in and start dialling numbers off of a call list and continue to sit at a desk for 3 hours, I learned how to manage difficult customers, management was excellent, my co-workers were very nice but some were unpleasant, hardest part was trying to understand some of the customers on the phone, and most enjoyable part was being able to book a call.

well, it's a very engaging type of work, and straight forward i had a task and i had to complete the same task in each house i cleaned on that day.
