As a flight attendant at a seasonal base, the only reason I can think of for leaving Sunwing would be to go to a competitor because I wanting year round employment as a flight attendant. I personally feel working for Sunwing as a seasonal flight attendant is great. I can work at other jobs when I’m off and come back excited and refreshed for the next season. The other advantage of Sunwing Airlines is if someone has a life change and can no longer work the hours required as a flight attendant, Sunwing has many other divisions that an employee could look into for career opportunities. They own several resorts, Sell Off Vacations, Nexus Tours, etc....

Flight attendants are guaranteed 80 hours per month but it can be more depending needs and your availability,

From my perspective interviewing for a flight attendant position, Nova 2018: Be at least 30 minutes early and ensure you follow the directions in the interview confirmation email and have all the documentation requested. This is the first opportunity to demobstrate that you are prompt and can follow instructions! Dress professionally and be neat in appearance. Why not wear your hair up or back and make it easy for the interviewers to imagine you in the Sunwing uniform? This is an extremely competitive industry and you want to make it easy for them to see you as a perfect fit for their team. My interview time of 9am was shared with approximately 20 other people. We were gathered in a room together and a Sunwing employee gave a 30 minute presentation to introduce us to the company, explain training expectations and highlighting non-negotiable training dates. At the end of the 30 minute presentation, we were called out by name by a Sunwing employee to go to a different room for a 1-1 interview. The questions were quite standard- tell me what great customer service means to you? Is the customer always right? What was your favourite job and why? What is your biggest weakness? How would your best friend describe you? Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a manager and how did you resolve it? Have you ever worked for a union? Why should Sunwing hire you? The 1-1 interview took about 20 minutes. We were told that all 3 references would be emailed or called and I was advised by my references that they were all contacted the very next day. We were also told that the 28 chosen applicants would be contacted before December 1st so the process seems to be very efficient. Training will be intense, and testing frequent throughout the training period,The pass mark is 90% and each applicant is permitted to do 2 rewrites only. You must be able to swim the length of a pool without a life jacket. If you can not swim, do not bother applying. This is a requirement. I found the Sunwing interview process and team to be professional and positive.

For a flight attendant position- non negotiable is the ability to swim. They are looking for customer service experience, well spoken and ability to follow directions, be on time (early is best) and confident when you speak. The 1-1 interview is only 20-30 minutes so make sure you come prepared to answer standard situational questions and tell them a bit about yourself- strengths/ weakness, previous experience, etc. Of course having a second language is always a plus. They do not have a weight restriction but you do need to be capable of meeting the physical demands and should be proportionate and consistent in your weight because of uniform requirements. There is a restriction on height... I believe no taller then 6 feet which I assume is based on being able to comfortably walk down the aisles...? I didn’t pay much attention because I am well under 6feet tall.
