I enjoyed the fifteen years I worked with Sun Life Financial. I learned a great deal about Dental and Medical coverage. My co-workers where friendly,I had a instant bond with all my co-workers and as the years passed I looked at them as family rather then co-workers this included Team Leaders, Managers, and Directors. The hardest part of the job was managing the hi volume of calls during peak hours...( we never had enough bodies to manage the magnitude of callers) The sallary was excellent the rewards programs was attainable and regardless of the position I held with Sun Life Financial I always felt valuable to the company.
excellent sallary, health & dental benefits provided
Sales Manager- Financial Advisor (Former Employee) – Oakville, ON – 22 May 2018
Its a great role if you want a flexible and non political culture. no real boss, you are a 100% commissioned employee, you have huge tax write offs and you have support from internal Managers to assist you. You can build your own business
Senior Process Consultant (Former Employee) – Waterloo, ON – 20 May 2018
The employee support and facilities at the company are excellent. Gym, cafeteria, kitchen, cubicles, etc are modern. It is easy to work from home or take time off for personal issues. Staff usually do not work overtime or stay late regularly.Modern use of technology such as Adobe Connect and software is used. But hardware is sometimes outdated,eg laptops are slow. Recently Sun Life announced re-structuring of teams and has let people go and teams have been downsized.
Workplace culture is engaging
Too much focus on meetings, complicating simple tasks, Low job security. Can be fired on the spot without any notice.
