Established in 2001, Summit Veterinary Pharmacy Ltd. is an accredited Ontario pharmacy dedicated to ensuring veterinary patients thrive. That’s why we aim to provide the most comprehensive range of high-quality compounded medications in Canada. Our goal is to drive positive treatment outcomes for equine and companion animals across the country.
Summit provides a solution when commercial products are unsuitable for veterinary patients, reasonably unavailable, or on back order. Our compounded medications are specially formulated in the prescribed dose, dosage form and flavour for veterinary patients.
Working at Summit means being part of a diverse, passionate team of professionals. Our health care team’s shared mission is to set the standard for excellence in the veterinary compounding industry.
• Solutions-minded approach: we work with community veterinarians to develop customized solutions for their prescribing needs.
• Collaborative culture: we believe in work-life balance. Our social committee organizes team building activities, company barbeques and charity events.
• Great benefits: Summit offers competitive salary and benefits packages including dental, drug coverage, paramedical and RRSP matching.

Coworkers and management were a pleasure to work alongside. A family-like feel almost. Work can be repetitive. Hours WERE great as well with short (or no) Fridays.
Dispensary department is fast-paced, almost always something to do at all times of the day. Everyone is very helpful and willing to answer any sort of questions. You can work at your own pace at this pharmacy, you will never be rushed or told to work faster. They tend to pay higher than the average pharmacy, with full-time, steady hours, so hours are not changing with each shift.
Worked in Chews for almost 1 yr. Managers choose their favourites and demean the rest. Cliques are already establish, so you’ll be lucky to find someone nice to actually chat with. Everyday is unpredictable for volume of workload. Some days you’ll have more than enough to keep you busy, however mostly you will be literally sitting around bored with nothing to do. The process of making chews is engaging, but if you don’t want you’re mind to be idle for hours, I highly recommend not applying for this department.
Good company to work and to have an experience. People are nice to work with except managers who are not supportive on my career for growth no matter how dedicated i showed and shared with them.
At Summit we make compounding of medicaments. Some days are a busier than others, but nothing impossible to achieve. They teach everything you need to know to perform the job. There is team work, and everybody helps each other. The management is great! They are there to help you achieve your goals and guide the team, and know what is going on in the company. They do not come with random requests that do not make sense for your job. The hardest part would be that it is a physical job, so you would need to stand most of the day and do some repetitive tasks. The most enjoyable is the team and everybody working together.
