Sales Associate in Port Coquitlam, BC

Great Expectations; Poor ManagementStaff turnover is very high (40+ Staff in 3 months at the Port Coquitlam location alone). The company is very poor at training its staff. Head office is a mess. If you understand the actual value of your work, you will be phased out through harassment. Typical family business: if you aren't family, you are going to be ground into the dust. Advice: Do your duty to the LETTER of what they ask you. Offer nothing more.

Unprofessional Management, No Career Advancement, FavoritismUnprofessional managers and disrespectful owners , they would give you no training but will expect you to do great. Very unorganized inventory management, warehouse is screwed up as you won't find the products where they should be. No matter how hard you work, you are always get a negative feedback.High turnover, have seen more than 20 employees just walking out on their job.Worst place one can work for. Not the right company to grow in. Just a matter of time , once they found a cheap replacement for you, you are gunna let go. No paid break , only one 30 min lunch throughout the whole shift. So if you have a better opportunity while you are working there, just don't give it a second thought. In a nutshell, worst workplace with highly inexperienced as well as unprofessional management making the workplace unbearable. Night Manager.

Good coworkers & great leadership owner in supportive environmentSummit Tools is a place for you if you are self-driven and good team player. The atmosphere at the office is really supportive. If you have any questions, your coworkers are always willing to share their knowledge without hesitated. The best thing working at Summit Tools is that you will feel you are like part of the family, the owner is open-minded and truly care about their employees. There are many staff who have been working for a long period of time from 5 years or even more than that. It could be challenging from time to time, but if you are looking for a company have a nice workplace culture. Summit Tools could be the right choice for you.

Fine for short term employmentStarting there was fine, but within a few months it was clear that management had no clue how to motivate employees or assign tasks. Tons of scapegoating low to mid-level employees to cover up management incompetence, and 0 HR support. Far more stress and workplace politics than it's worth. Also, not a great COVID-19 response within the store OR the Head Office.
