Favouritism and barely any training.
The management at Sukoshi Mart 100% pick favourites and if you aren’t one of them, you were always on tiny ice. They train you for about a couple minutes and you learn everything on your own. The job comes with more responsibilities than is said on the job descriptions and will expect you to do hard labour with little to no help. The pay day is always being moved around and you will never guaranteed a pay every two weeks. The people are friendly and is what makes the job. Overall I don’t suggest working here.

High expectations
You will do fine if you’re self motivated and driven. Management only cares about your sales and effort on the floor. Opportunities to advance if they see you having potential. Pretty easy job, it does get busy and hectic at times. Job can get stressful when it’s busy.

Everyone was really nice!
Full disclaimer...I only worked a few shifts. We had another lockdown so the store was forced to close. The interview process was really quick, and the actual interview was pretty short. They asked standard retail related questions. I saw a lot going on during my first day. Like many others have mentioned, training was very little. They hire based on your sales experience and they assume you have a good understanding on sales. Wasn't hard to pick up, and they'll happily answer your questions. Co-workers and managers were friendly and welcoming. I will update review whenever we re-open.

Overall positive experience
I worked at the STC location. You can tell its a new company. There wasn't much training but it was overall a decent part time job. They were flexible with my hours and it was a relaxed environment despite a stressful time (covid). Manager was very friendly and understanding.

Do not work here
This is one of the most unprofessional jobs I have ever had. The management here expect so much from you but teach you so little, and will take advantage of you. Not to mention they don't know how to file your T4 properly! They will input incorrect numbers and overall they are just a very shady business and team. Along with that, they invade your personal life and personal space.
