Could have been better
Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 1 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedTop Tier Management doesn't care for employees, good place for someone to learn the industry, but if someone wants individual growth place it is not worth. Unnecessary competitive environment among employees but no one focus on team building. Money is good & if Management think rationally this place could be better.
Pros
Some Nice People
Cons
Mismanagement

Not the best place to work.
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 31 May 2023
Turn over rate is crazy. They say it’s like a family working there but it is the furthest thing from it. Favouritism is obvious and very common. They claim to have an open door policy but it isn’t at all. Bosses are very much based off their moods instead of a company as a whole. So unorganized and departments don’t work together. No HR department to escalate issues regarding management and the departments. Little to no chance of moving up in any department.

Insights into Stryder
Areas for improvement
- Support from manager
- Trust in colleagues
- Sense of belonging
Worst company you could work in
Local Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 26 May 2023
No fixed start time, you could start between 3PM to 9PM Wage goes down over the time instead of going up So much politics in dispatch No respect for hard working drivers, they treat drivers like s. They say on your face we get a lot drivers so you don’t matter. They have appreciation week and events for office people and nothing for drivers.
Pros
Free driving training academy
Cons
Everything

The ad said $25 an hour they paid $23
Driver (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 5 February 2023
Pay was too low to survive in Vancouver. Drivers working here work long strenuous hours to live pay check to paycheck. Wouldn’t recommend working here as a driver unless they started paying a live-able hourly like $50 an hour. $23 an hour to start is a crime. It’s dangerous on the road. You’re risking your life.
Pros
If you like driving, you get to drive. Can be fun at times to do these driving missions.
Cons
Low pay, they lie about pay, not healthy, long sitting, no food

Stressful work environment for work
Warehouse Supervisor (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 1 February 2023
Very stressful and unorganized management, not enough support from managers if you want to do something better, coworkers are friendly and hard working but due to lack of appreciation from management demotivates everyone.

Driver Relations (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 24 November 2022
This company has really great people. Rarely are you lucky enough to find a company where everyone walks in the door with a smile on their face. Everyone is a team player and happy to lend a hand when needed. There is plenty of room for advancement.

Good company to work but if you can survive in less money
Owner/Operator (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 8 September 2022
better than others in the market but I expect more ......... # It all depends upon your savings you can save from your fixed expenses. # No Night premium is paid here. # no wait time is paid for any type of road closure. # no winter allowance # Even a company driver can make more money than an owner-operator. its a better company for a Company Driver Rather than an owner operator
Pros
Good Atmosphere
Cons
Less Savings

Toxic work environment
CSR (Former Employee) - Various - 7 September 2022
Head office looks lovely to visit - but that's just for show. Owner is unpredictable, irrational and slimy. Would give Stryder 0 stars if possible. Stay as far away from this company as possible.
Cons
Long hours, lack of support from management, no HR Dept.

Solid Company w. Respectful Dispatch Team
Company Driver (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 1 March 2022
Stryder's been a great company to drive for since I joined nearly a year ago. They maintain a solid relationship between dispatch and drivers, and information is clearly communicated. I was set up with a reliable truck when I started, plus the few times I ran into issues with my equipment they repaired or replaced my equipment quickly and without complaint. I've worked for companies before that pressure you to "manage your books", have a toxic environment, and point fingers when equipment issues arise - I've experienced none of this at Stryder and am really grateful that I feel respected in my role. To anyone looking for a driving job that offers consistent employment with solid benefits and pay, I recommend checking out Stryder.

Fast paced work environment
Logistics Coordinator (Current Employee) - Richmond, BC - 27 February 2022
Work environment is very paced, and dynamic. Be ready to go all in at work, and learn on the go. I suggest applicants applying here have 1 - 2 years of work experience before applying, as the pace of work is always dynamic.

4 March 2022Hello and thank you for sharing feedback. One of the ways in which we appreciate the hard work of our employees is through our "Feel Good Fridays" recognition program where staff members who put their best foot forward are rewarded and shouted out on our social media. This is on top of our gifts that we give out in the holiday season to all employees as well as our seasonal company events. In regard to your other comment, we provide free lunch to staff in all divisions regularly, including our Warehousing Division. We also host our Holiday Luncheons that take place every year. Stryder operates at a high pace and it is unfortunate that your employment with us was not to your liking and didn't work out. We wish you best of luck with your future endeavors. Sincerely, The Stryder Team

20 September 2021Hi there, We are sorry to hear about your employment experience. These kind of reviews are always concerning for us to see as we work everyday to cultivate inclusive, fun environments and a team-centric, collaborative culture at our workplaces. One of our ongoing goals is to ensure everyone at our company (whether that's on or off the road) feels like "part of the family" and are treated as such. This is something that we instill in all of our employees to reflect, including our management team. If you were in training, you obviously weren't expected to know everything so it's unfortunate to hear that that was what you took away from it. We wish you the best with your future career opportunities and thank you for leaving a comment. Sincerely, The Stryder Team
