Learned a lot on the neuro floor, very crowded with residents and sometimes frustrating finding a doctor for orders. Nice and clean and up to date hospital.

I enjoy working for baycare
Pros: Advancement in career opportunity, top pay, reimbursed travel miles, tuition reimbursement and scholarships, great staff to work with. Cons: Need better health coverage cost, Maternity benefits should be considered to improve (If you have FMLA prior to your leave, then any days you take off gets deducted from your actual maternity leave, Team care baycare is going away (We use to be seen for free at a clinic, but not anymore), Raises are held at managers discretion. Overall I like working for baycare and it is a friendly open environment. even with the cons I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. They do ask for improvement suggestions from the entire hospital and they do follow through with the highest request, if possible.

Mission focused, great sense of family and community
There are many different opportunities for nurses in the Syracuse area. Early on in my studies I decided to apply to St Joseph's to become a student nurse while I finished my studies. I chose not to attend the school for personal and family reasons, but knew I wanted to work there. Since that time 15 years ago I have held a number or roles within the organization while continuing my education. The organization has always allowed for advancement opportunities in addition to supporting my work, family, and educational needs. The benefits and pay have continued to improve to keep up with the other area hospitals. The organization is focused on their mission and is evolving to ensure its sustainable into the future.
Pros
Environment, management engagement
