Staff Member in Thunder Bay, ON

Not a Caring, Compassionate or Committed Employer
Poor Senior Management and it starts at the top with the President & CEO who has been there to long and spends more time trying to make things look good to the Board and the Public instead of rolling up the sleeves and problem-solving with the team. Virtually non-existent when the going gets tough. CEO lacks self awareness and so things won’t change. Staff no longer have faith in or believe in senior management. Always looking for the “fall” guy. Very female dominated leadership team and this hurts the organization.

No Csre. No Compassion. No Commitment
Unbelievable. I cannot believe a place could be so horrendous to the staff that go in every day to care for the residence. So many issues that come down to management. I've seen nurses and support staff crying in hallways and getting berated and yelled at by managers who basically tell them that they don't care if they're stressed. Bad nurses walk all over their support staff and, when reported, managers don't care because they "trust the registered staff more than support staff due to medical training". It is a sad excuse of a building and of a place for or elderly population to call home. Be prepared if you work there because bad families, bad managers, and bas scheduling crew run the place. You'll be lucky to get you holidays 3 years from your start date!

Isolation shelter in Thunder Bay, ON
on 7 May 2021
Definitely do not recommend
The overall work experience with coworkers was fine, however; management was very unprofessional and very ignorant. Especially the isolation shelter management. They’ll constantly change stuff around without speaking to you, get ready for a new schedule and new shift changes everyday! It’s just overall messy, and no one seems to know what’s happening. You’d think they’d be nicer given the shifts are 12 hours overnight, and you can barely take your breaks because they’ll moan that no one is allowed to leave the floor.
Registered Practical Nurse in Thunder Bay, ON

Hogarth Riverview Manor
Horrible place ever. They treat employee like a trash. (Especially staffing). Change assigned unit without notify. Even tell them not comfortable or confidence to work in other unit they still force person to work.Reject vacation request multiple time. Unpaid overtime. Always short of staff. Failed to provide safe workplace(Even concern about workplace safety issue they will ignore ). Very rude&disrespect. Bad management. .Never ever recommend some one to work here. This is the last place if you cannot get job in anywhere else.
