parents use these camps as a daycare so get prepared to see lots of troublemaker kids without management and parent support. You have the full responsibility of all the kids but even you don't have a proper 4 wall place. There will be traffic, strangers all around you (bc you are basically in a park) without borders. Danger !! The money you make is not equal to your responsibility and also an awful schedule that you may have 35 hours one week and the following couple weeks you would have 10 hours in a week and some weeks you end up with no money because they could cancel the class 3 days before your shift because of the low registration (which shouldn't be your responsibility). Not fair!!

Great staff and rewarding job.

Great staff I worked in the kitchener/cambridge area and they are very supportive, you can earn extra money the longer you're there and by picking up extra shifts, a lot of travelling so a car is needed, you sometimes need to share equipment with the other coaches, mileage is paid for and you usually don't get full time hours so great as an extra money job.

Rewarding job

good atmosphere, rewarding to work with kids and fellow coaches. The company is accommodating and works with you, not against you, which is refreshing.

Great coworkers and company

High commitment job when wanting to get something out of it. Needing to have good time management skills as well as preparation for coaching a class for the children. Enjoyed all the staff/employees. Great time working with kids. If you love teaching kids and sports, this is the job for you.

Could have been better

I would get calls from my boss late Friday late for work things Saturday night. Work off time was not respected and the coworkers were not reliable. The boss was slightly helpful but it was not worth the pay

Great job, terrible career

Pros: amazing job to be a coach, really rewarding and schedule works well with school. Coaches are paid well and pay bumps are big and based on ability. Great stepping stone for people going into education. Great training program. Cons: ownership is a nightmare. Micromanagement to the max. Your opinions are not appreciated. Vacation days are forced when the office is closed for holidays. No security. Anyone can be let go if you disagree with the owners. High turnover. Nepotism. Professional development is lacking. Owners do not care about you.

Good place for student or young person

Overall it was okay. Inconsistent hours and a lot of expectation to do things on your own time without pay (ie. make lesson plans, clean equipment, drive all over to pick up or drop off equipment etc). Might only work like 2-3 hours a week. You work the same hours each week, same day & time. Good for very part time work. If you like a set schedule with minimal hours, this may be the job for you. Perfect for a student or young person wanting to make a bit of cash. Be ready to work with young kids (ages 1-10) and interact with their parents. A lot of pressure is on you. You’re also expected to drive all over for work at various recreation centres and locations. Sometimes had to commute for an hour. Make sure you have a car for this job and expect to drive a lot. Oh and you won’t be reimbursed for gas.

Nice co-workers, work with kids, sports related

Minimal hours, expected to do work without pay

Not the Standards I like.

Their micromanagement techniques and philosophies do not align with my beliefs. Operates with a no trust type of thinking. Does not accept feedback nor suggestions.

Great teammates

Terrible ownership

Very stressful work environment. Lacks appropriate leadership from CEO

A typical day of work is extremely busy with an enormous amount of demands. The management is very disorganized and lacks compassion and appreciation for their employers. Co workers are the best part of the job.

A very highly rewarding workplace to impact the lives of children through sport

Working at Sportball was one of the most memorable times of my life. It was so rewarding working as a Sportball Coach and make a positive impact in children's lives day in and day out.

Fun environment with friendly staff

This company is well established and fun. I enjoy going to work every day and get a lot of personal reward from this job. The job includes providing a safe and fun environment for the children and interacting with parents.
