Managers are easy to speak with, work culture is relaxed, fun and casual, the office space is designed in a very kid friendly way. Overall a good experience, though for a short span of time. Would love to work there again, if given more clarity on my role and responsibilities.

They often work from 9am to 9pm with NO overtime pay since it is a production field. This is not China. It is a Canadian company and happening right in Toronto. When submitting timesheet you only put 40 hours when you actually worked over 50 hours. A heavy workload causes mental and physical stress and lead to poor performance. Worked over years and had seen many got fired.

Worst career move. Having worked for a Premier best in class Tier 1 Consumer Packaged Group company in a Leadership role. I joined Spin Master with promises of advancement based on my experience and knowledge in Credit & Collection. Instead, I was given a lower than Jr level position doing non-value added work. This promise of advancement speech was given to every candidate as a tactic. The team was immature and lead by Leadership that lacked Emotional or Professional Intelligence. The most enjoyable part of the job was the free bagels. The workplace was extremely unprofessional. I have used the Team Leadership as an example of how not to lead. . Very disappointed~ Left company never looked back.

Fast paced, high stress environment. Work-life balance difficult to achieve. High workload; low salary.
Great people, although everyone is burnt out.

A typical day at work was checking outstanding tasks from the last day.
Top management is not very knowledgeable but relies on friendship to owners therefore few opportunities for growth.
Pros
Free toys
Cons
Poor upper management

Worst company to work for. No life balance, no future growth, used like a tool. Liars and liars, use you until nothing is left and throw you aside like trash.

I would highly recommend the organisation. It was a fun and professional environment to work at. The corporate culture is progressive and dedicated to your over all success.

Spin master is a "fun" company that can become pretty draining to work at. Co-workers are mostly decent but treatment of employees is unequal. Good hours and nice benefits, pay kind of sucks. Very little room for advancement. Some departments are very demanding and being people down pretty hard.

3 Partners are great guys but do not fully understand how those who manage the company for them are just terrible. EVP is a control freak who worked at Wal-Mart and believes his the ultimate retail guy. Should have been fired years ago.

The environment is very dynamic and stimulating. There is no chance to be bored here - plenty of learning opportunities, interesting projects, and advancement opportunities if you’re willing to put in the effort and network.
Free toys, summer hours, Holiday office shutdown, modern office space design, wellness programs, etc.

Very high demands with very little reward. Everyone's only looking out for themselves. Toxic environment that's not for everyone. Sink or swim. If you can fit in with the culture and are willing to spend evenings, weekends and holidays being plugged in - you will succeed. Not the best place to work for anyone with a busy personal life.
Pros
Bagel Wednesdays, free toys, lots of fun events, casual environment, no dress code
Cons
long hours, poor work life balance, high expectation, ruthless management willing to cut people out for silly reasons.

Productive and Fun Place, but a normal day here a lot of crazy workloads.
Beagle days and other fun parties time to time are good. Head Office building is Brand new and very close to CN tower.

The work envionrment is extremely intense there are stringent timelines and extremely long days. The people you work with are pretty amazing and are hard to find anywhere else. Sadly, the pay is low and the turn around is high.

A fun atmosphere. Balanced with ensuring work is done to the satisfaction of involved parties. Working in the intermediate department allowed me to interact with representatives from sales, finance, logistics, IT, and customer service. Because the companies product field is toys, there is often a sense of fun in the air. Because the company is large with a focus on growth, business activities are monitored and addressed sharply.
Hardest part is looking busy when tasks are complete. I learned or was reminded that multi-faces are everywhere, do more talk less, and study one's leader early.

I only worked part time as a freelancer during the school year and full time in the summer but I really loved it. My team was awesome and everyone was pretty much always positive and motivated.
Spin does respect its employees a lot and there are a ton of perks including a beautiful new office that really makes you feel like you work at a toy company.

An interesting job opportunity I got to be a part of. I worked for a week as a Hand Model for a children's toy commercial and the crew that I got to work with were very generous and made it a fun and exciting environment to be in.

Free toys, free bagels & fruits. Work is doable. Not strict in terms of what to wear but not open to work from homes, using cellphones and earphones during office hours.

Free toys, free bagels & fruits
