Fun work place with supportive management. Started out as a Trainee, I was given the opprtunity to develop my skills in different departments over the years. Politics have a strong impact, as it can be expected of such big companies. Salaries are very interesting at all levels.
Site is in complete disarray. Little direction or support from management, constant shifting priorities and in-fighting. Moral out on the floor is at an all time low. No transparency from leadership. High rate of employee turnover. Pay is OK for the area, but not considering the hazards we work with on a daily basis. The company has taken a serious toll on my mental health and well-being in general. It's sad because the site had so much potential and is being run into the ground. Currently seeking employment elsewhere.
Who you know, who you blow. Look at all the paper mills in Thorold and that should be a good hint as to what these organ-EYE-zations think about you. They don't. It's about making $. The most enjoyable part of any job is hearing the buzzer go off.
None anymore, baby boomers used to be able to drink on the job, New hirees have NOTHING to look forward to, before their job leaves for Chindia.
Everything is con everywhere.
