Stressful and salary below industry average.
Credit Analyst (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 12 May 2022
Most of the workload will be towards the end the month and year, so in the start of the month it will be slow, but things get really busy near the end of each month. So it gets really stressful in a short period of time. Furthermore, salary is below or about industry average, and even if you do get a raise, it will be minimal.

Great so far
VSS (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 12 April 2022
Great so far. Lots to learn at first coming fresh to the company from elsewhere but after a few weeks I am getting the hang of it and there are always resources to support me.

Great place to work
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 28 March 2022
Management are very involved with employee development and are equally invested in making sure that you are looked after to the best of their abilities. The staff managers are friendly and cognizant of their employee needs and the managers are also approachable and fair.

Great culture
Account Executive (Current Employee) - Montréal, QC - 2 September 2021
The culture is great. They genuinely care about their employees and their customers. It has been a great experience up until a few months ago... In sales you are relying on so many other people to get your job done. If someone drops the ball, you end up owning the end result and have to face the consequences of an unhappy customer or a poor NPS score. Since they sell so many different vendors and products it is hard to keep up and have a good knowledge of their offerings. They are big into diversity and inclusion which is good!
Pros
Lots of spiffs and bonus $ for sales benefits from day 1 paid vacations
Cons
Too many people to rely on to get your job done right

Toxic environment
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 August 2021
You'll be force to be a Yes Man for all the mistakes management makes . Company instruction is based on subjective opinion of the people above you and your numbers and your result wont effect your future with this company . I highly recommend Softchoice to people who are Adulator .

Culture Needs a Shift
Event Marketing (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 16 June 2021
Feels like a high-school where mean girls and boys stri e for control of the landscape. More focus on ethical HR practices to curb type of behaviour and not punish those who speak up against it.
Pros

Worst company I have ever worked for
Product Master Representative (Former Employee) - Toronto, Dufferin and King - 24 January 2021
Worst management I have ever worked for. Expectations were extremely high for entry level roles with very low pay. Management also forced employees to work on call on holidays with no pay.
Pros
Vendors always have food catered for staff, dog friendly office, gym onsite
Cons
Horrible management and HR

Extremely low compensation, toxic management, politics on all levels
Analyst (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 6 September 2020
This company needs to be changed from top to bottom. They literally pay you at least 50% less than industry standards. They say they care about their people ... THEY DO NOT! They say they invest in development of their employees ... THEY DO NOT. Promotions increments go to those who try hard not to perform but flatter their managers. The management and environment is so rotten that you can smell politics and favoritism on all levels. There is no concept of annual increments you can barely get couple of hundred dollars increment after few years. DON’T waste your time, your energy in this company for a long time.
Pros
Work from home, occasional free lunches
Cons
Extremely low salary, no chances of career advancement, favoritism, toxic management

Jobs at Softchoice
Softchoice is embarrassment to the industry.
Solutions Consultant (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 August 2020
Softchoice is so cheap that only hire kids, and management is terrible and toxic. It is not a pleasant place to work. With so many other options, I suggest applying elsewhere.
Pros
Nice building
Cons
Everything

Best Place to work
Cloud Consultant (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 20 June 2020
Really on of the Best Place to work. This company provides great opportunities for talented people. They have been using the latest Microsoft Technologies for their Inhouse Product.

Very fast paste
Sales Support (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 9 June 2020
Very fast paste work environment. Many opportunities to grow. I would not recommend this company for individuals with busy family life. Softchoice has a great culture and provides lots of support but demands a lot of time spent on training and development.

A lot of effort to align the company with the current workforce demands
Professional Services Program Manager (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 28 May 2020
Sales is the driver. If you want to succed you must find a way to demonstrate that you are either making money or influencing making money, otherwise you are at risk.

Diversity with no inclusion
Training Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 24 March 2020
Although the workforce may be from different ethnic backgrounds, it's a culture based on "cliques". The company doesn't really care about anybody except their financial results. Although they preach inclusion and how much they care about their people, that is not the case.
They have a way of shunning those who are different, and someone who has broader interests in life feels stifled there.
Also, the US part of the company is immensely cold and have zero people care.

Softchooce
Renewal Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 23 March 2020
Great place to work - low pay and really bad management styles. The people you meet are amazing and everyone loves to have some fun but the structure of the company as a whole is a little sketchy

Amazing organization full of opportunities to grow!
Senior Manager of Licensing Operations (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 28 February 2020
I love working and growing at Softchoice. The culture is progressive, inclusive and supportive. I was forced to leave due to personal circumstances, but I would recommend this company to anyone who cares about performing at their best, excelling to greater opportunities and enjoying fun company culture!

Great environment
Account receivable Representative (Current Employee) - Montréal, QC - 23 January 2020
It is a very good environment to work in. You can bring your dog to work. There is high expectation but the rewards are not bad. For example in my department, if the team meets its monthly target everyone gets a day off.
Pros
Work/ Life Balance.
Cons
Salary

Great place to get your feet wet in B2B sales
Territory Sales Representative (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 20 January 2020
Base salary too low for cost of living in Toronto. Management is hit or miss depending on what team you're deployed to. Culture is cool but seems a bit forced although the people who work here are definitely the highlight of the experience.
