Enterprise Architect (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON9 November 2018
If you want to flash back to your high school years, this is the place.

Softchoice desperately wants to be a mature, well-run organization but lacks the process and discipline to do so.

Flexible work environment
Cons
Disorganization, immature organization

Amazing company with dogs in the office all day, free food all the time, happy hours hosted by vendors.

High-stress sales environment. Long sales cycle, it takes a while to ramp up.

Great IT company
Data Governance Analyst (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON4 September 2018
Very relaxed and young IT company culture. Average employee age will likely be late-20's. Workplace culture is relaxed (ping pong table, foosball table, games, nap room, beer cart Fridays, etc). Culture and learning opportunities are the best parts of the job.

Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON24 August 2018
Decent place to work, but constantly worried for job security. No work balance, make you work absurd hours with no compensation. Even on holidays and arent happy to let you take time off.

NetApp Technical Architect (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON18 July 2018
I cannot say enough about the culture of this company. They are really involved with the communities and there is plenty of opportunities to really get involved. The on-boarding process for presales could be a bit smoother, but once you understand your role and talk to your colleagues, it gets easier.
Pros
Fantastic culture
Cons
Difficult on-boarding process for presales

A lot of fluff and luck of the draw involved in this company. Great starting point but no longevity. Average tenure at the company was no more than 2-3 years.

More Work than it's worth
Senior Account Manager (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON24 April 2018
Typical day at the office involves starting to make dials to existing and potential clients at 8 am. You are expected to make roughly 50-150 calls per day, send out quotes, check order statuses, and follow up with distribution should any issues arise.

Essentially, you are running your own business for the company with minimal support. It was incredibly stressful and more work and effort than the minimal salary was worth.

Softchoice is a great company to work for from the management to the culture to the belief system.
I have learned a lot working at Softhoice and given the opportunity to take on tasks beyond my job duties.
The office is dog friendly.
The culture is diverse and awesome
The hardest part of the job is trying not to love the company. lol
Nothing is hard about my job however I encounter challenges often which makes my job an excellent learning opportunity.
Pros
Free Lunches, Dog Friendly, Recognition, Benefits, and Tuition Reimbursement

Sweat shop - stay away
Manager (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON4 December 2017
Extremely HIGH TURNOVER in staffing.

Very poor work-life balance.

Don't be 5 minutes late for work or you need to call your Supervisor.

Expect to work month end / quarter end to midnight; not disclosed in interview.

Pay premium for Parking.
Expect to pay extra $$$ to support their Charity.
Pros
Bring your Dog to work if they pass the interview
Cons
Rude Management

Great place to start a career, not as good for mature workforce
HPE Server/Storage/Networking Technical Architect (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 November 2017
The company has a good go-to-market strategy for Microsoft and Cisco. Non-core vendors, including HPE must compete for mindshare with sales representatives. The organization is trying to move to a best-of-breed solution selling model, but still operate primarily on a transaction basis.
Pros
Good company culture
Cons
Lack of focus for non-core vendors

BUYER: PURCHASING (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON9 September 2017
Softchoice is starting to do better than it did a couple of years ago. But their salary and wages are still the lowest in the market. Work Life balance is satisfactory but they have a great Charity Organization.
