A place where you can grow and make great money
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Vernon, BC16 February 2019
My experince is that you can really increase your income and make great money here but the hours are a lot. So if you have great time management you'll need it to balance your serenity :) making time for your loved ones and your self, but over all I felt that this is a great place to get your self established and making great money if your motivatied. They have great training!
Pros

Average Work Experience
General Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Brampton, ON23 January 2019
My time at sleep country warehouse working was a typical warehouse job in which you were just unloading trucks of merchandise to be put somewhere else. The management was alright, no problems there. Hours were cut often thanks to the lack of work on some days during slow weeks. But over all average experience nothing bad nor amazingly good.

Strong corporate culture with weaker local management
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) –  Winnipeg, MB31 December 2018
Sleep Country Canada is a good company to work for. The commission structure is very competitive within the industry with decent bonus structure.
The corporate culture is very strong, but many times is misinterpreted by local management. At times it seemed like only when senior corporate management became involved did the concerns of employees get heard.

Enjoyable place to work
Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Calgary, AB19 December 2018
Lots of down time waiting for customers to come in, enjoyable to help solve their sleep challenges when they do come into the store. Team is important. Company advertises a lot, and has a very strong reputation in the industry.

Great Place to Work.

Competitive.

Money is Good.

Long Hours.

Some Stores have 11 hour shifts.

Might get stuck doing 6 days a week. Your income is dependant mainly on what store you are in and second on your ability to sell.
Pros
Money
Cons
Long hours

Good work culture, but the salary is not that great. Depending on your position, you may find yourself having to work 7 days a week. When you are given a laptop and a cellphone, don't be to excited because it would mean that you will spend your weekends and vacation time working from home because of the workload
Pros
good work culture
Cons
Long hours, high turnover

Best money you can make in a retail environment!
Area Sales Manager, Retail (Current Employee) –  Vancouver, BC7 October 2018
Job Work/Life Balance: No such thing, as you work long retail hours.
typically 45-50hrs/week

Salary/Benefits: 100% commissioned job with benefits after 3 months.
Job Security/Advancement: job security is there but advancement options are less.
Management: Depends on the manager you get.
Job Culture: sales based job, so you make money only when you sell.. and how much you sell.
Pros
uncapped commissioned job
Cons
Long retail hours, but a bit flexible depending on your store staff and mgr

Management is unprofessional, hours are bad, pay is garbage
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Halifax, NS6 May 2018
Straight commission, otherwise you make minimum wage for hours worked. If you're in Halifax you will not make that much money especially if you get posted to the downtown store, management is sexist and grossly unprofessional. You will have unlimited freedom to do whatever you want with this job, no micromanagement.

Too Much hours
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON30 April 2018
Too much hours for the salary , you have to constantly lie to customer . They basically teach you how to lie all the time, you don't really have a choice since its only commission. They try to make you think that they are like a family but it's not true at all . If you wanna become sick go work there a depression is the only way out .
By the way you have a meeting a month and they don't pay you .
Pros
None
Cons
Hours, salary, Management

A real bunch of sharks
Sales associate (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB31 March 2018
Deception is the key to this business. Great service is not the key, it is how many times you need to lie to a customer to exact the most profit out of each customer. If you like to lie to people sleep country is for you
Pros
its warm, get to dress nice
Cons
a bunch of lying sharks that will skate you at a moments notice

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON15 February 2018
Awful. Management is awful, uncomfortable and all on power trips. Individuals who work there are shallow and ignorant. I would never recommend this corrupt company to anyone.

Delivery Driver (Former Employee) –  London, ON5 February 2018
Working with sleep country taught me many different skills. Being alone throughout the day with just one helper taught me to take control of situations and find the best outcome on my own. Wonderful workplace with a bunch of great people. Lots of responsibilities including timing, customer satisfaction and many more.
