Ok

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
It's ok. Gas is very high. Would like batter pay rate and some kind of incentives for Gas and also car maintenance. They should supply SkipTheDishes dashboard sign for parking.

Drivers discriminated over customers

The company always use AI instead of real human to answer inquiries from drivers, yielding us getting neither the most needed help nor solution. Besides, the company always accept complaints from customers on drivers, regardless of validity, and adjusting the satisfaction rate of drivers very unfairly. This totally unacceptable. The only thing to merit on SkipTheDishes is that the hourly rate is not too low.

Flexible, pay is okay but with current gas prices I cannot recommend it.

Pick your own shifts, sign off and on whenever you like. Current gas prices combined with paying for repairs on your car make it not that great of a gig as of right now though.

Would give 0 stars if I could

Pathetic company policys. Not worth the km and wear and tear on my car. They don’t care about you no matter how much you do for them the littlest mistake and that’s all they see.

Pros

Cons

Gas prices

Just bad

Never start delivery with skips. They are robbing everyone of profit except themselves. You make no money, waste of gas. More than needed ware and tare on your car.

Cons

Lots of gas used, time waster, greedy

I enjoy working here, you get make your own hours and have no boss. You don't have to deal with to many people so it's nice and quit. Who wouldn't like to listen to musicians and driving around while working

No

I have worked in this company and their treatment is very elegant and I gained experience in this workI thank those in charge of the company’s management. I hope they put the high oil prices in this period and increase the salaries of employees, especially drivers.

Good place to start

it's a good place to start, the pay sometimes isn't that good because some customers don't tip, but the advantage is the flexibility of hours and the ease of working on your own

Know your city well, and drive a hybrid? You might have a chance at making money. Otherwise good luck!

make your own schedule, ability to drop shifts a minute before start with no ramifications. The flexibility is excellent. The amount of deliveries depends on your own personal city or "Market" and you will learn the best times to deliver in your own experience. Skip pays a minimum that varies from place to place, usually $3-5/delivery. The customer tips are where you make your money. You are reliant on them, but you can't count on them. You are responsible for all costs incurred while on the job, such as gas, wear+tear, accidents, food, thermal bags etc. You will be considered a contractor, so nothing will ever be on them.I recommend as a SIDE HUSTLE, do not recommend full time. The work just isn't there in my market. Restaurant staff can be rude, as they treat you like one of their own, when in reality you aren't. It's a lucky day when things break even and people are pleasant.

Pros

Super flexible hours

Cons

Responsible for any expenses incurred, Frequently rude restarant staff. (area dependant), Frequent non-tippers, low tippers (<$1)(area dependant), Occasionally incompetent agents when you need assistance, Sitting around for a while in your car waiting for orders, Increased wear on phone, car and mental health

Self control over schedule and potential earnings

Set your own availability and desired area(s) to work in order to receive scheduled shifts accordingly, with the ability to pick up extra shifts as you please. While on shift you get matched to orders based on location. Total earnings and distance to be driven is displayed on the order, you may accept or deny but keeping your acceptance rate up ensures you are matched to more orders. To make good money it needs to be busy, so learning your cities peak days, times and locations is important. Overall a decent way to make some money either on the side or full time if you choose. Although vehicle fuel efficiency and potential repairs should be considered.

Pros

Flexible schedule, no management to report to

Cons

Minimum pay per order could be higher, Sometimes the expected distance to drive is too far and out of your designated area

Work is time sensitive, traffic challenges and at the mercy of the weather

Skip the Dishes can be fast pace depending on the the time of day anc the day of the week. Some businesses are very slow in order preparation which makes for a long day and possible loss of other orders.

Pros

Flexibility is good for scheduling shifts.

Cons

Long hours to make a good wage and weather can make deliveries a challenge

terrible driver customer service.

If the customer service cannot help u they just end the chat without providing any name. Every time they don't wanna help they just keep arguing and there is no oversight of management. Nobody gets in trouble for providing terrible customer service. And with the gas prices going up this is the last thing you wanna do. The people who order food from them. Think about how they are behaving with the drivers.

it ok

The good days it fast make good money the slow dead days you get lot of time to take a nap in your car a hope you see an order or to but I wouldn't hold your breath on it .

What you expect

This job is basically what you expect.Best for part timers. If you need cash to stay afloat while you look for better work, have people skills and a car, you can earn a small amount of money. You pick your schedule and sometimes can get extra shifts. If they have orders and no drivers your phone will go off when they need someone now, can pick up extra that way.Sometimes orders get messed up at the restaurant and you can't do anything about it except talk to the customer to have them contact support for reimbursement, most people are good about it.Occasional free food at end of shift. This was before covid and leaving food on doorsteps though.

Pros

flexible hours, easy

Cons

low pay

You have the benfit of being an owner operator and making a work life balance when you can get the shifts and area you wa t to work in.

Five year history and seeing changes made that have a negative impact on drivers, drive times, communicationand customer/quality of service.Drivers dressed in dirty clothes carrying dirty and ripped bags.If you have high standards know that you will not be recognized for them.

Pros

Writing off vehicle, repairs at tax time, work as long as you chose any given day

Cons

They have lost the human conection, they emphasize you are an independent contractor, but your income is controlled when you drop below 80% complience, Even when you are choosing your own personal safety over accepting an order.

Small cars and flexible schedules will help

Driving for Skip is like any other job. There are busy and good money making days. Then there is not. With rising gas prices, the km driven can work against you. Skip feedback and support are reliable and quick to respond. The biggest pet peeve is the rudeness of some fellow Skip drivers and their expectation to be served immediately. On the other hand the customer service is also lacking from the restaurant staff which can be downright non-existent. Overall the $ helps to pay the bills but business has not been as busy, for me, when everything reopened.
