Good work but less pay
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Kamloops, BC - 1 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedFun to work if you like driving, but there is not much to expect! $10, 12 an hour. rarely is a jackpot. Mostly around $60 in 6 hours in most busiest site too.

Be your own boss
Courier Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Victoria, BC - 5 December 2023
Work when you want to, for however long you want to. Able to cancel shifts or log out early without worrying about losing future work opportunities. Best to have an electric or hybrid vehicle - fuel expenses add up pretty quickly.

Very low pay.
Courier Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Victoria, BC - 10 October 2023
I have not been making any money here to cover the cost of living. You have to wait sometimes 20-30 minutes for the order to show up and once you get the order you often have to drive far to deliver it (15-20 min). Considering cost of gas and car maintenance they should exercise better system in place.
Pros
You are on your own. Ni managers above you, you start and finish whenever you want.
Cons
Low pay, small orders $$, long kilometers to be driven

27 November 2023Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the flexibility of choosing your own working hours as an independently contracted courier with Skip. You mentioned wait times for orders sometimes. Please note that orders are assigned based on your GPS location while on shift, so we encourage couriers to move to a central location while on shift to maximize your orders. Thanks again for your efforts as a Skip courier!
Poor setup
Courier Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Alberta - 7 October 2023
Bad delivery and work management. Will fire you for customer complaints when completely out of driver's control. No say in the matter even when you work hard and do job properly... driver's can't help wrong address given from customer, incomplete or improper instructions and restaurants bad etiquette for preparation. There's better delivery companies to work for...
Pros
Independent self employment
Cons
Bad management and layout

Just not worth it. Save the mileage.
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Brampton, ON - 3 October 2023
As someone who has been driving for Skip for nearly 2 years: After gas, regular maintenance, and wear and tear you are making less than minimum wage. Working during peak hours is dangerous and kills your fuel efficiency, so any increase for working during these times is basically meaningless. Use to be that when you got 2 orders at a time you would be paid for them individually, now they offer only $1 extra for both regardless of mileage (in MOST cases). Once I looked forward to these, now I dread them. There also use to be an incentive for working weekends, but this program was also eliminated. Tax time is an expensive nightmare.
Pros
Make you own schedule.
Cons
Low pay, KMs, gas money, vehicle wear and tear, doing your taxes is a nightmare and expensive.

Fun and easy work, getting to discover new restaurants and meeting some really great people
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Barrie, ON - 24 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Making people happy. Everyone loves food and seeing customers smile when they see me is very fulfilling What is the most stressful part about working at the company? There really isn’t any stress. I would have to say doing the dinner rush and fighting the traffic around the city is about the only thing that can get stressful What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Inclusive, and fun. You are your own boss so what could be better than that? What is a typical day like for you at the company? Open the app, tap and GO! Easy !

Not worth it. Only if you live in a big city but even then good luck making even close to minimum wage, especially after you account for gas and mileage
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
Awful pay

Skip
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Alberta - 14 July 2023
No respect or support for any of the couriers always chatting with bots for support very low pay to the point where some orders you have to pay out of pocket to deliver

Low wage but flexible schedule
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Chilliwack, BC - 29 June 2023
After gas and vehicle usage, the wage is not very sustainable. With this being said, it’s a good job if you’re studying or have tasks to do between orders.
Pros
Own hours
Cons
Sometimes wage below minimum

Courier Driver positionsGood for some extra pocket money or if you are simply desperate
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Surrey, BC - 26 June 2023
The application was straightforward enough; however, you do need to purchase specific courier bags or the bags that they sell to potential couriers. The pay, work shifts, and amount of pickups have been considerably less compared to when I started in 2022. I think it is simply a saturation of the job and market. I find the business model for most of these types of companies to be highly exploitative. You earn less than minimum wage with zero benefits, and you never feel like the company has your back; it's work for some extra beer money or for the truly desperate (like me).
Pros
You choose your shifts and can get to know your city/area fairly well
Cons
Zero benefits, Work for less than minimum wage

What is a typical day like for you at the company? I’m only getting one three hour shift after working there for two years.

Low pay and poor on the job support
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 24 May 2023
Skip the dishes will attempt to give you the lowest pay for high mileage. If you reject the order it affects your Acceptance Rate which affects the amount of orders you can get. Basically forcing you to accept every order. Profitable or not. Support is based abroad and they always copy/paste messages without understanding the issue.

Good summer side hustle
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Penticton, BC - 23 May 2023

Awful, Never Enough Orders / Hours
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Alberta - 23 May 2023
Just a miserable company to work for. Their support is rude to drivers, there is never any regular work, and you end up spending more on gas than you earn. You are not valued at all, you are a commodity to Skip.
Pros
nothing really
Cons
never enough shifts, awful pay

Flexible and relaxing
Courier Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Langley, BC - 15 May 2023
I don’t like that the customers can just pretend like they never got their food and then the skip drivers get fired because of it. I think they need another system to manage these types of problems

Decent when it’s busy.
Courier Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Brantford, ON - 2 April 2023
Love the independence and picking my schedule. It’s bad when it’s slow though. December-March are rough. Supports isn’t great either. But it’s easy money and a no brainer job.

I put hour and day of work.
Courier Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Kamloops, BC - 21 March 2023
It is this job I have fun, I meet new people, restaurants in each delivery, as well as the city. In the mobile application I see what I am earning and how customers rate my delivery
Pros
The application provides discount codes for car maintenance and gasoline.
Cons
Sometimes customers don't ask

Good for extra cash
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 2 March 2023
Good job for extra cash. There are some quiet delivery times, but lunch time and weekends can be productive. Courier app and Skip Courier support are very helpful.

Terrible Job. Not worth your time
Courier Driver (Former Employee) - Alberta - 1 March 2023
Please don’t do this job full time ever. This job has the worst pay, for example sometimes you will get an order for 6.50 when you have to drive a total distance of 10km. Its very time consuming some times for each order whether its the restaurant taking ages for the food or sometimes because of traffic and long distances. Its very hard to work for $20 some days its $10 and hour or even $15. And for expenses for gas this job is not worth it. It also depends what car you have, and im sure someone isnt going to go purchase a car thats good on gas just for this job. Underpaid heavily and it sometimes causes stress. If you are bored and want to make a couple bucks driving around sure this is a thing for you part time. Or whatever I dont really judge but from my experience this job is terrible lmao spend your time somewhere else.
Pros
You pick your shift time. Thats it.
Cons
Underpay.

Cons
What you earn is based on every 10 deliveries you complete
