Low pay and poor on the job support
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 24 May 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSkip the dishes will attempt to give you the lowest pay for high mileage. If you reject the order it affects your Acceptance Rate which affects the amount of orders you can get. Basically forcing you to accept every order. Profitable or not. Support is based abroad and they always copy/paste messages without understanding the issue.

Laid back, no challenge
Store Manager (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 29 November 2023
This position involves taking care of one of the micro-fulfilment centres that operates as Skip Express Lane, and in certain markets also operates a Krispy Kreme storefront, as well as Walmart Now X Skip in the west. The position has a hyper-focus on order picking accuracy and customer satisfaction through storefront ratings on the Skip app. The position involves a lot of conventional supermarket store tasks (receiving, stocking, produce monitoring, hygiene and cleanliness). There is very little to no career advancement within the Skip Express Lane vertical, and lateral career moves within the Skip org is less likely. The position is challenging in the first 3 months with a steep learning curve, after which it seems the position loses all sense of challenge.

Interesting work, but found out that this is not a permanently solution for a proper job
Food Courier (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 30 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The chance to meet different types of people and restaurants What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When the orders are not ready at restaurants and there are problems with the app, there are major traffic jams, accidents, stalled vehicles or construction on the way. Also, when delivering to customers they do not put their storm shelter or driveway lights on when it is dark outside or when the buzzer numbers and apartment numbers are not provided in the app for all deliveries and you have to wait for a long time to get a response from customers. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Extremely fast paced. The culture could be drastically improved when hiring support agents to resolve issues quickly and respond to emails in a timely manner. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Start shift, start receiving orders, pick up orders from restaurants and deliver to customers, confirm deliveries and end shift.

Awful Service - Do Uber
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 7 September 2023
I signed up as a driver in 2018. Did it for a couple years. Then got emailed political garbage from them. So I left for uber. Just tried to come back to them but got HORRIBLE service from their operation team. They don't care about drivers. Plus it's shifts. Uber you sign in and out whenever you want. Door dash pays less than both but way better customer service from uber and dash. So done with skip driving and ordering.
Pros
None.
Cons
Shifts. Politics. Bad service.

Good pay
Driver (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 15 August 2023
Decent pay; better than DoorDash or UberEats. Minimum pay per delivery is very beneficial but order level is bit less. Would advise SkipTheDishes to increase order volume.

The working environment is good, the flexibility of schedule is good , you can choose what area you want to deliver. I recommend this job if you like driving around the city .

Not worth it
Driver (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 16 February 2023
driving or delivering for those app based services is not worth it. In Canada min wage is 15$. Driving your own car you are making way less than min wage. Most days 8-9 hours shifts you can make maybe (20-80$) . No job security, pay is lower and lower every year. Those companies mostly taking advantage of newcomers
Cons
Low pay

Poor pay
Courrier (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 12 August 2022
I guarantee you, you’re working just to pay for gas and an oil change. You don’t actually make any money. Not even worth it as a side gig. Extremely inconsistent.

Ok
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 9 May 2022
It's ok. Gas is very high. Would like batter pay rate and some kind of incentives for Gas and also car maintenance. They should supply SkipTheDishes dashboard sign for parking.

Driver
Courier Driver (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 2 June 2021
There is no order inside the warehouse, no motivational behaviors, people are completely unprofessional as supervisors. I hope they get better management in the future

Its nice
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 8 June 2020
Its nice to work with Skipthedishes. They do not have any fee for connecting driver to the customer. Thats a huge relief. Most of the rival companies charge a huge amount as fee from the net pay.

Worst job, pls donot do this any more. If driver will stop doing this, they will understand the value for drivers for this company
Driver (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 27 February 2020
I have doing the skip from monthy and my acceptance rate is always 80, disgusting . Today i had complete my 2four hour shifts and i just ear 60$ i drove about 80 km. They never want to return the money for cash order, if you call them for reimbursement and they will put you call on hold about 30-40mints and once agent picks up he will disconnect the call intensionally. If you want any other info call me at 41650
