Unsafe work environment
Electrician Apprentice (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB27 April 2019
The worst company to work for, unsafe work environment, poor communication because nobody speaks english, if your looking to advance your career as an electrician this is not the company for you, they don't follow the bare minimum of the electrical code, but if your looking for a steady check, don't care about advancing your career and don't mind working in an unsafe environment, this is the company for you.
Pros
Steady check
Cons
Poor communication and unsafe work place

Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB11 April 2019
Nice place to work a lot of OT, employees are fun to work with, the only thing I don’t like in this company is! There is always a shortage of materials. They need to improve on their management.

Fantastic Growing Company
Marketing (Current Employee) –  Edmonton, AB5 April 2019
Silent-Aire is a fun and collaborative place to work. There are lots of different roles in the company, it is open concept and people get along great with little to no drama which is nice. The owners are hands on who care about their company and will offer extras like a work out room in the Edmonton location. I have friends wanting me to recommend them for jobs because of how highly I speak about the company.
Pros
Growing, Diverse, Fun
Cons
Parking

Good consistent workplace
Apprentice Plumber (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB4 February 2019
Silent Aire is a good place for people who don't need to learn more about their trade to work, although you incorporate good skills into every day work it becomes repetitive and hard to learn new skills.
The most enjoyable part of the job was defiantly the people, met a lot of amazing guys that taught me a lot and will definitely keep in touch.
Pros
Steady work
Cons
Hard place to learn

Plumbing dept apprentice (Current Employee) –  Edmonton, AB6 January 2019
Not a great place to learn and expand, but it offers competitive wages, good benefits, and decent job security. If you are already done learning your trade, need to sure up hours for advancement, or simply need a steady day-job then they're good.
Pros
Stability and competitive pay
Cons
Scatterbrained leadership structure.

Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Edmonton, AB22 November 2018
Long days but a lot of time off. Pay is within industry standards or better. Like the family environment and culture. Work is steady and good growth for future. Chances for advancement with internal progression.

Steady work

Poor managment and treat workers horrible expect you to know everything from the start
Welder (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB14 November 2018
Poor leadership to employees, started there on probabtion period superviors didn't give any time for learning the job just expected you to be top notch and know everything.(moral of story was let go because speed was a issue after not being shown properly how things were done there).

Dont set you up for success as everyday is hunting down tools to do the job properly but in the end if a job aint getting done fast enough it falls on the enployees.Highley suggest if your a new journeyman not to work here as its not a good learning experience.
Pros
Fair pay
Cons
Long hours, poor managment and are treated like a pon

Welder (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB3 November 2018
I quit after day one. Management the worst I've seen. They try and pay minimum wage for welders! How a company like this is still going baffles me. No one speaks English.
Pros
Diversity?
Cons
No one spoke English

Welder (Former Employee) –  Sherwood Park, AB28 September 2018
Rotating day shift has its ups and downs. Management is arrogant, disorganized, unaccountable, clueless, and hypocritical. Terrible for double standards. Safety is an absolute joke. They don't maintain equipment or facilities. Expect high production without reasonable means. Constant re-work. Engineers completely lack foresight. Throw new employees to the wolves. Cheapest place I have ever worked. A high majority of employees in every department do not enjoy working here. Very depressing environment.
Pros
You're not working a street corner.
Cons
You'd be better off working a street corner.

Welder Apprentice (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB4 July 2018
Hard place to work when management beats you down daily, in 10 years I’ve never been treated so badly, working every second weekend 36 hours with no overtime, you loose pay on a holiday paid for 8 on a 12 hour shift
Pros
Oil prices are going up
Cons

Apprentice (Current Employee) –  Edmonton, AB12 June 2018
Safety is a joke. Constant hassle to write bbo’s behavioral based observations. To keep up numbers for management. They are useless and nothing is done when you write them. There is no follow up. They care more about the customer and money than they do the employees well being or safety. Borderline slave labour.
Pros
You want to kill yourself
Cons
You have 12 hours a day to figure out how.

Labourer (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB11 May 2018
Management doesnt promote people who deserve it and everyone gets paid very little (17-20$ph) theres a lot of hours to go around and the compressed work week has its benefits. Most people i started there with have left due to not being noticed or not getting the raise they wanted. All in all its an o.k. shop to work at. Work is consistent.
Pros
Compressed work week/consistent work
Cons
Management can be frustrating

Waste Your Time Here
Assembler (Former Employee) –  Alberta6 March 2018
Throw you into the shop with little information. Parts for the products are not organized.Language barrier is heavy. Blueprints are not up-to-date. Long hours are fine but a schedule that changes every week isn't.
Pros
Half hour lunch break, in door work
Cons
Strict schedule, hardly no training

Not a good company to work for, if you speak english it worse for you as theres mostly philippenos work their, when they place you to work with them they speak in their language and you don't understand what is going on........Then management come and say you are not doing your job...... When you complaint about their disrespectful behavior management do nothing about it.

Yard Labourer (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB3 December 2017
Frustrating place to work. You are limited by incessant health and safety committee but are pushed to produce. Employee turn over is high... and there are no incentives for a job well done. The attitude around the shop is poor and managers are over worked by demanding production quota.

Strange Shift & Hours
Welder/Fitter (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB22 November 2017
This business has the worst hours and days of work.

If you like working every second weekend and 12 hour days with no over time this place is for you.

If you like shift work working different days every second week this place would be for you.

Start work at 6am and off at 6:30 pm as a 12 hour day is mandatory.
Pros
Pay was ok
Cons
12 hour shift work- no over time
