Productive, fun work place.

Relaxed work environment. Work can be repetitive and boring so as to make up for that, management is pretty relaxed, understanding and easy going- they are more focused on quality of work than quantity- unless there is a push at the end of a project to get it out the door on time- understandable.

Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear that you enjoy your work and the company culture!

Lack of growth opportunities and poor conditions

I held the position of Engineer at the aforementioned organization. Upon my commencement, I was filled with enthusiasm and had an array of plans to enhance my skill set. Regrettably, the management left much to be desired. I observed numerous instances of discriminatory behavior. The treatment from the manager and executive team was far from professional, creating an atmosphere that did not reflect a typical professional environment. The opportunities for growth were scarce, particularly for those at a junior level. The work environment was notably uncomfortable. Executives often engage in loud, non-work-related conversations contributing to discomfort in an open workplace environment. Without delving into specifics, there were several occasions where my technical queries directed at my manager were overlooked, despite my manager's availability to engage in casual conversations about personal matters such as vacations with other team members. I hope this insight proves beneficial for anyone contemplating employment at this organization

Cons

poor management, discrimination, and a lack of growth opportunities

Thank you for your feedback about your time as an Junior Engineer at Silent-Aire. I understand you were not comfortable in a open and casual work environment where co workers are able to conversate with each other freely. Hopefully your next role is more suitable to your needs.

Worst company i’ve ever worked for , not safety conscious and don’t care about they’re employees!

Terrible company to work for, i worked as a welder for about a year and couldn’t handle the unsafe work practices, the management treating employees like dirt and the terrible pay .

Pros

I left

Cons

The whole company

Sorry to hear Silent-Aire was not a fit for you. Safety is a top priority and our safety teams work to ensure everyone will go home safe at the end of the day.

Incredibly stressful if you actually want to be productive and care about putting out a good product without doing things three times.

What is the best part of working at the company? The pay rate is on par with industry standards What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Ineffective, lazy, hypocritical supervisors and management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Toxic. Supervisors, leads and management will outright bully or harass workers with little to no repercussions for said actions. Some workers are allowed to blatantly break or ignore rules(even safety absolutes) with no repercussions while others are chastised or punished for anything. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Mired in dysfunction. Full of safety violations. Rules literally covered in the morning meeting will be broken within 30 minutes of work commencing, while white hats turn a blind eye to it

Hello and thank you for your comments. As a current employee, if you notice someone acting in an unsafe manner, please report it it to your supervisor, safety coach or HR. Safety is a top priority for the company and employees engaging in unsafe or harmful activities should be reported immediately.

Completely disorganized mess

These guys are one of the worst managed companies I have ever worked for. Nothing is planned in advance. Everything is a fire from minute to minute. No one knows what's going on and no one really cares. The entire premises is a disorganized mess. Stuff just dumped everywhere. It's like a big dump. Anytime a truck needs to move a unit there is an hour of house cleaning just to have it all piled back up.

Thank you for your reply. I can see that you are in the shipping department currently. If you feel that organization can be improved in the loading areas, please bring your concerns to the Shipping Supervisor and maybe we can work together to improve receiving product.

Thank you for your review. As a current employee I can suggest a solution, you can either speak to a supervisor, plant manager or HR representative and see if your concerns can be addressed. Sometimes you need to speak to someone if you are unhappy with your work.

Gong Show

This place is set up and ran so bad that they lose employees and managers on a regular. They don't care about their employees. They take advantage of anyone they can. Starting with if they put you on the split shift you work 12s so your of at 6 pm. while once you reach 80 hrs and your desperate enough to allow them to make you work an extra 8 and then eventually get paid overtime. Mean while they have Monday to Friday that the managers, leads, and a few employees work Monday to Friday and are off at 430 pm they also collect 2 hours overtime everyday. So not only are they home at a decent time they have the chance to work a full 6 days and get paid properly. Shift you will be lucky you get 5 days in a row and you only make o.t on the one day. That's why most guys refuse to work over time accept for the people who need to do overtime while the get screwed by this company. The pays just average as it is people quit for the better managed and paying jobs.Benefits are garbage here. If your a higher up you get the privilege of selecting better benefits or if you work in the office. Other places offer way better benefits than here.Definitely don't come here to start an apprenticeship they got it completely backwards making you work a year and if you are lucky they sign you and make you work longer. Everywhere else with in 3 months your signed and they give you the hours you worked. This place is so dysfunctional that they have no organization for you to complete or start a job. All the parts are either hidden or not ordered on time and the managers /supervisors are busy blaming -

Pros

Inside for the most part, toilet if you can find one when you need to go, overtime, employees are great to work with

Cons

Abuse loop poles, special treatment, poor benefits, not organized, poor management, take advantage of employees.

Thank you for your review. Let's address a few things because there's a lot to unpack in your message. As the responder to your review, I am onsite many regularly and speak with employees and supervisors equally. Many of our employees appreciate the overtime given, and our other electricians enjoy that they can work indoors especially during the cold snowy Edmonton weather. Some employees work hours at home doing paperwork as well. If you are truly unhappy at work and feel it is not a good fit for you, you can either speak to your supervisor, plant manager or HR representative. Comparing other people's roles and positions to your own is not healthy and can help create the same toxic environment you are criticizing.

Working shift

I like working shifts here, couple days on and couple days off. 12 hours a day. It’s good on working and life balance. If you like overtime, there is available too.

Thank you for the 5-Star review! Glad you are enjoying your time in our Aries facility as a welder! The overtime and flexible shifts are beneficial for employees looking for work indoors and with a family.

Thank you for your review, we agree there is potential for advancement and overtime!

Horrible

Been welding 22 yrs this is the worst place I have been into. Hired on with several other contractors because no one wants to work for them. They put the bar for production so high you don’t hit it. Then the Forman tears on you, stating it’s easily do able and I will show you. Then he makes a fool of himself and qc tells him to leave the welding to the contractors with the skills. Then right back to tearing you down about not meeting production while threatening termination. I terminated my self as quick as I could.

Thank you for the review! Glad you are enjoying your time here at Silent-Aire! Overtime is great for employees looking for extra hours. Working indoors in the Alberta region is a plus too!

Management sucked

The management sucked especially in the welding department. They don’t teach you anything they expect you to know everything and be able to do everything.

Thank you for the review. As a fast paced company, we expect some of the trades to have a knowledge of their skillset before they start work. There is some on the job training, and working with your peers to guide and some level of learning on your own as well. Sorry Silent-Aire was not the place for you.

Great place for old trades people to come and die.

Great job, love it, great co-workers for the most part and pretty good supervisor too. Part’s departments aren’t great at doing their job but that’s company wide. So if your an old person looking for an easy place to work this is the place for you.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your job at Silent-Aire. Please meet the Plant manager to discuss suggestions or ideas to improve our parts department.

No direction, no help

No guidance on how to complete your job, your expected to find your own work and keep yourself busy and get zero support from supervisors (because they would actually have to do something). True Boys club managenment with some of the laziet and most incompetent superivisors in the industry.
