Building a great career and doing the work I am good at...
Director (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 8 December 2017
I've been with Sierra Systems for over 10 years and I'd rather be here, working towards reaching our goals, than any where else. We have great clients and projects. I've had the chance to grow my career in ways I didn't think possible. You can build your own brand at Sierra and be successful. Consulting roles are never easy, but the variety of work can't be beat. I work with great people and while we all have different perspectives, we work together to get things done. We call employee's "career owners" and I really do own my career, I know a lot of people who don't feel that way, and they want more direction and guidance. I think Sierra is a great fit for people who see themselves as leaders from the inside, rather than given titles and authority.
Pays well, flexible benfits, RRSP matching, and support family and work-life balance.
Employees are spread out, Leaders are concentrated in Vancouver, face-to-face communication isn't easy.
Change Management Consultant (Former Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 13 December 2015
Could be a great place to work if there was a fair and consistent leadership strategy. Projects are given to Directors who select their favourite consultants and keep on using same people. Hardest part of the job is lack of support and predictability.
IT Consultant (Current Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 1 September 2015
My typical day at work can be extremely busy if there are issues in the network or infrastructure. Being on the Server team we interface with many different type of application and team and there is never a boring moment. My Co-workers are great and Sierra provides us with the appropriate resources and Support. Great plae to work but my contract is going to end soon.
Senior Infrastructure Consultant (Current Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 21 August 2015
Sierra Systems is an IT out-sourcing and development company. They work hard to develop a company culture but it is difficult when the majority of the staff work from home or client sites the majority of the time. Very solid salaries, salary options, and benefits

Sierra policies changed over the time for employee training due to budget constraint they had due to business merger, this change had an impact my training which I was looking for.... Sorry Sierra.
