Minimum wage job
Front Store Supervisor (Former Employee) - Mixed Ottawa - 26 May 2023
Typical minimum wage job. You are expected to put 110% effort, get no support from management, and be mistreated by customers without complaints. It's all individualy owned so depending on the pharmacist owner, you could be at the best location, or living nightmare.

Front Store Supervisor (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 13 October 2022
The work is similar at every Shopper's DMart, but not every manager is friendly or encouraging. It's a hit or miss working for this company, especially since Loblaw's bought them out. The values changed dramatically and employees are not unionized like Loblaw's. Benefits can be difficult to get as they will try to keep as many part time as they can. (Depends on location)It's a great job to start out with if you're on the floor, but don't try to make a career out of it unless you're specifically seeking management or Pharmaceuticals, as it can be difficult
Pros
30% discount on most items, reasonably flexible shifts, meet new people
Cons
You can get stuck with lazy co-workers, customers are absolutely awful and rude, lots of thefts especially at Rideau location

super stressful if you dont have a good management team. delegates all the work to workers. i worked part time so the only benefit you get is discount on your purchases.
