Workplace Bullying at Its Finest.
Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 22 November 2023
The assistant manager got the entire store to gang up on me for no reason and nobody does anything about it. Management never takes issues seriously and only cares about store results and not their employees' well-being.

Fun working environment
Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 12 November 2023
Working at shoppers was an amazing time. Manager was very supportive, and the work environment was chill. As long as you look busy and not on your phone on the floor, youll be fine.

Productive, yet fun working environment
Food Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Westlock, AB - 5 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? It was such a busy store, so no time to be bored! Very diverse in it's hiring, which is great. It's easy to move up the scale, if you're willing to put in the effort. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Meeting the deadlines, such as planograms, taking down and putting up the sale tags. Getting the stock put on the shelves. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Multi cultural hiring was a must at Shoppers, which was great. The work environment is fast paced, and excellent customer service! What is a typical day like for you at the company? My typical day was go to go, which I loved. I appreciated knowing what I'd be doing the following day.

Thieves, thieves, and more thieves.
Cashier/Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 2 November 2023
A typical day at work includes following around homeless people, being yelled at by old people, and guarding the front register like a dog. Day shift is nice, and most of the older ladies are super sweet and cute, there’s less people trying to walk out with the whole store in their back pack.
Pros
You’re the first person to see the markdowns after Halloween
Cons
Thieves all the time and no security

Awful place to work
Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Nova Scotia - 28 October 2023
Next to no life work balance. Always short staffed because they’re ‘cutting hours’ so deadlines for stock completion is never met, yet employees are blamed for this

Productive and fun place to work
Cashier/Merchandiser (Former Employee) - London, ON - 26 October 2023
Overall, working here is a great start for a simple part-time position. Easy for students who are attending post-secondary as well as work schedules are flexible.

Flexible shifts with average stress level, in some way a comfortable place to work.
Merchandiser/Cashier (Former Employee) - Victoria, BC - 17 October 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Flexible shifts and hours, the manager was always respectful and polite with everyone, I could move from one position to another depending on my preferences. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? During the peak hours usually doesn't get more staff to support the cashiers, only on thursdays. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Diverse culture and politeness What is a typical day like for you at the company? Sometimes is very busy and stressful, and sometimes quite slow and relaxed, doing different duties, like facing checking what is left on the task list for the day.

Overworked, underpaid
Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Calgary, AB - 16 October 2023
The people there are nice and are good to work with. Management is horrible and don’t know how to run their store. Treat staff awful. Owner doesn’t care either.

Low pay, and unprofessional
Merchandiser (Former Employee) - 950 Franklin Blvd - 5 October 2023
The Manager would snap at new employees for small things You're better than minimum wage They scheduled me for a shift without telling me they had updated the schedule Some customers ask teenaged employees too much about recommendations for adult items. No real training Bad hours and engages in quiet firing if an employee happens to call in sick

Good first job to have
Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Vaughan, ON - 30 September 2023
It’s a pretty decent first job to have. The work isn’t too difficult and the discount is nice. Only negative was the management, if you call in sick don’t expect to be on the schedule for another 2 weeks.

Shoppers Drug Mart Simcoe
Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Simcoe, ON - 27 September 2023
The front store manager goes above and beyond for the team. She checks in regularly and encourages growth and cross training and she works hard! You’ll find her doing a lot of the jobs people don’t want to do just so we can focus on other things. The assistant managers are great too. A lot of the staff have been there a long time and it has a “family” vibe. The owner truly values the staff and it shows. They do so many things for us all. The head manager plans things all the time. Cons- a lot more physical that you would think but, it’s like a workout some days which could also be a pro. Midnight shifts sometimes, but the scheduling is done very fair and mindfully
Pros
Goodies, positive environment, flexible schedule
Cons
Midnight

Good starting job
Cosmetics Merchandiser (Former Employee) - Richmond Hill, ON - 25 September 2023
This is a good place to work for a first time job. The job was very slow paced and I found myself bored with the everyday tasks I would do. I also didn’t find the job easy to build good connections with everyone you worked with. It’s a good place to work if you like doing your own thing once assigned a task.
