You can get part time benefits, but part time benefits are significantly worse compared to full time benefits. You may as well skip out on the deduction until you become a full timer with benefits.
12 hours work
To qualify for benefits you need to be working full time as 40 hours per week. You will pay every month for your benefit what is not very cheap and not very good coverage.
28 is the minimum requirement to be a full-time employee with benefits.
It took me myself a few weeks maybe around 3 or 4 in total to get the full benefits (the discount) but mostly because the employees are lazy. They could do it much faster
