Like any employer, Shearwater Research has its drawbacks.
But it is so closely involved and recognized within its specialized industry that everything about this company, from its products, management principles, operational requirements, to people development strategies, presents a very unique set of attractions that can not be easily compared with conventional employer.
A lot of companies lose their identity or "flavor" as they grow, whether or not intentional. It would be an interesting case to see how Shearwater Research evolves over the next few crucial years.
"Fit" is a common term used nowadays in the labor market. It is especially true for any prospective employee of Shearwater Research.
No other employer in the whole world, other than perhaps the Navy, would pay for your Scuba Diving Training

Shearwater is a great place to work and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested. They are the predominant company in their industry and everyone there is happy to work to keep them there. I've never worked with so many people I got along with so well.
