Overall an alright place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Major staffing crisis. Constantly working short and therefore a constant need for OT. Safety on and around campus continues to be a major issue re: vandalism/break ins.My coworkers are fantastic and feel like family. Management does choose favourites, and picks and chooses who to help more, etc.

Lack of accountability and support. No financial gain at all.

What is the best part of working at the company?Benefits. That it. Nothing more. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No recognition. I've been a 15 year employee with no recognition at all. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Really bad!. No town halls. Really your just in your own. No support at all. The internal system don't work. There is no accountability at all. What is a typical day like for you at the company? No. I'm not adding this information.

Productive and fun

Nice place to work and there is a good work life balance. The most enjoyable part is having the opportunity to do what you like and getting the needed support in doing it.

Work with a purpose

I was a navigator in the COVID vaccination centres. I had flexibility around my hours and my work locations. The managers gave clear directions and training.

Pros

The people

Cons

Short breaks

Great pay and benefits

This employer offers great pay and benefits. Can be busy at times depending on volume of work or when working on tight deadlines. Management style varies by department. If you feel comfortable working with rules and defined policies, this is a great place to work.

Health care assistant

Great environment to work. Coworkers and supervisors friendly and supportive. Sometimes can be stressful, but not always. Amazing teamwork. Fair pay. Lots of overtime if you want to get it.

System Status Conrtoller (MTCC)

Past employee, terrible place to work. Management is aweful and doesn't take care of their employees. I dedicate many years to this job, and over the past 5 years management has made several great employees quit. Always short staffed, and the workload added. I would not recommend this place of work at all. The job could be very rewarding at times, but management is horrible and they need to learn how to take care of their employees.

Pros

Helping people, coworkers are great

Cons

Horrible management

A great place to work at

I enjoyed working for them. Management was great and always helped when we were short on personal. Work environment was amazing. Pay was decent, could have been better.

Long hours

Nice place to work but management wasn’t cooperative. Pay is good. You have to be on your feet for hours. Gets hectic most of the times. It was a contract role so can’t say much about the company.

Awesome Place to Work

The pay was great and the job was easy. The day was long and boring. I greeted clients as well as showed them where to go. I then started working on the Pedal Program what was a lot of fun.

Good

The work I did was alright. Managers and coworkers were supportive and the teamwork was amazing. Pay was fair enough for the amount of work. My job was a temporary remote one so it might have different dynamics.

Good Leadership

All the managers are helpful and kind. Despite COVID they try hard to make you feel appreciated.Always felt listened to and appreciated by those above me.

Shortstaffed and overworked due to budget cuts

I stay because the pay is good, but it’s been frustrating to see so many staff burn out and quit during the pandemic. Allied health care professionals haven’t had a new contract for 4 years and it shows.

Great place to work

Great people to work with, managers supports and help you with whatever you need. Good pay, good benefits as well, pension and great environment. Lots of opportunity to grow

Provincial System Falling Apart

Most of the system was falling apart. I still love the job, just had to move on before it sucked the passion out of me. Management tends to not care, it's 50/50 on the good vs bad employees. 12+ hour most shifts, have to sometime fight for your OT pay.

Not a fun place to work politics inside and no growth

It depends what site your assign to work some site you go to different places and thats a hard thing to do misericordia sites .. challenging place management , work and co-workers some are nice and some are not no room for advancement and repetitive work no support from contacting worker and management you only work there because they are paying you and you need money

Pros

None at all

Cons

Breaks are sometimes hard they are more concern with numbers of work than employee . No growth

So rewarding to be able to help clients have a positive experience while in the super site.

Great place to work. Everyone is so friendly and welcomed me right away. I’ve only been part of the team for 5 months and have already been promoted. Love it!

Pros

Great working environment.

Cons

The booking system is absolutely brutal. They book clients in when they aren’t eligible, book clients when the clinic isn’t open and give out incorrect information every single day.

Disappointing

No room for growth. Not eager to implement new things. No support. Only hear from management when something wrong has been done.Wages are not competitive with other markets.Hiring freezes in middle of a pandemic.

Horrible place to work

Shared health is a horrible company to work for.The senior management teams are an absolute nightmare and they treat staff like numbers and not actual human beings. There is no work life balance and you are constantly reprimanded. Safety is a major concern and they enjoy sweeping issues under the rug at the expense of their staff.

Pros

Benefits and pension

Cons

understaffing, long hours, mandating, disciplinary meetings, safety

Look elsewhere

Benefits only pro. Management is non-existent, non-responsive, hinder professional growth. Workload expectations unrealistic as staff decreases, many open vacancies.

Pros

Benefits

Cons

Management, work load expectations, short staffed
