Lab Supervisor (Former Employee) - Canada - 6 December 2022
I was there for 3 years and advanced extremely quickly. I would venture to say the advancement was much faster than any other workplace I'd ever been in.The management was decent, they were quick to recognize talent and to promote internally, that being said they did not offer full time employment right from the get go so it was extremely stressful for the first year I was there.The workplace culture was mostly positive.
Pros
Promotions were fast, company will help you get a visa if there are opportunities in other countries
Cons
Hours are long, turnaround times are extremely tight and staff are undertrained.

It's is a good place to kickstart your career
Laboratory Supervisor (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 26 July 2012
SGS is a good company to start a career in the quality assurance and quality control field. The opportunities are there for those who aspire to self improvement and career advancement. I learned everything I know about geotechnical inspections from this company. They have some dedicated people who really do care about the job they do.
