PRACTICUM TRAINEE in National Capital Region
on 18 May 2022
Very Organized and Systematic
Received proper training and orientation before starting my work. Coworkers were appreciative and easy to communicate with. Files and processes were very organized. Free coffee and hot chocolate, and there's also a fitness room.

Ok place to get your foot in the door
Wage is competitive in some departments. Bouncing between overly busy days where you’re pushed to the limit and stressed, to days where there is no work. Upper management pushes for changes that do not make sense and benefit no one but themselves, work life balance is usually terrible although you get weekends off. Lab supervisors and chemists are all great people which is a plus, but upper management ruins a lot of good things.
Supervisor in Burnaby, BC

Fast-paced with good work environment.
Management changes in the past few months implemented a new culture with better salaries and production bonus. Shift rotation are based on department needs and length can be 8, 10 or 12-hr.

Very busy and stressful sometimes. But you can always get support from your team
Everyone is working multitask. Busy but salary is just fine. Can get support from management, but that depends on your team. Overall good cooperation within the company and management is fare in dealing with work relationship.

Annual Contract Work
Workplace - terminal work with the big three oil companies, they decide all the contract terms and change them when they feel like it. Management - management is off site and not close in proximity, atleast three hour drive from Toronto. So management only checks in when there are issues and are distant. When there is no work to be done or lack of hours they cannot help you.
