Left to pursue a career in the trades, but my time at ServPro was one of the better experiences I’ve had at a company in awhile. Fantastic HR person and the General Manager is THE best one I have had the pleasure of working for. Very understanding/patient/generous human being. Takes the time to think about what he’s going to say and really get his point across without having to resort to the more common practice of berating your employees and threatening them as yelling. For the technicians expect long hours, some days without full hours, OnCall is demanding but is very lucrative. A few years in this industry and you will be making good money. Sometimes management can get overloaded and stressed which trickles down to the techs, busy times can mean things get overlooked or missed, unorganized planning etc. All in all it’s a good place to work, the techs treat each other well and are good teams to work with.

Don't work for them

Horrible company, treats employees unfairly. Quality of workmanship is the lowest standards I have ever seen in a company. No structure, no guidance and just no quality managers

Loved the hours and pay and my workmates!

Hours were from 6-6, decent pay and time off. It is with this company I learned the importance of knowing and following safety guidelines when handling cleaning products for establishments.

High demands/On call daily even when not scheduled

When you are not on call you are still on call. Huge inventory in massive warehouse - brand new equipment yet cannot pay employees a decent wage for the hours/demanding workload expected from them.

lack of quality managament

expected to work long harsh hours with little to no luxuries. no a/c in vehicles, unpaid lunches, needed equipment hardly brought, supplies replenished rarely, and low wages.

New things every day

Good overall company. Hours can be very long and along with a busy on call schedule, personal time can sometimes be hard to come bye. But on the other hand when business is slow hours can be hard to find.

Toxic and mismanaged company with a revolving door

At this workplace, you quickly learn that only those in Calgary have a chance to advance, and only then if they are friend or kin to the owner. A typical day at Servpro is putting out fires and dealing with cranky customers who have been uncared for due to high staff turnover and a constant changing of internal protocols. Management encourages infighting by stoking the fires regularly, spreading rumor and innuendo among themselves in order to make others look bad while trying to avoid the same. Culturally, they seem to want the backbiting and slander to continue and they encourage employees to go over their supervisor's head to 'resolve' disputes. The hardest part of the job is trying to cover for the ineptness of management while enduring the onslaught of negativity from all sides. It's hard to find something good to say about Servpro, so I'll just say that the occasional barbecue in the summer does help to lighten the mood.

Productive and Balanced workplace

A day at Servpro requires traveling from job to job, handling water damages, calling customers, making a schedule for yourself in order to get to each job when customers are available, all while being respectable, responsible, and professional. I learned a lot about customer service and different home invasive issues, also how to handle upset customers. Time management is a big thing at Servpro, because you call each of your customers in the morning and have to work around their schedules all while making sure you're completing each job correctly. The workplace culture is pretty laid back, but also very professional to ensure to the customers we will handle their homes and property with the utmost care. The hardest part of the job would be the hours needed to put in by each Tech, it is a 24 hour company and theres a lot of calls that come in daily. The most enjoyable part of the job would be all the things I have learned from it.

work without to much pressure

To work with people from different countries is very interesting, not only because they are different cultures and languajes is also because I learned different skills and how they work in their countries. ,For their opinión and how they look Canada . This job was more than i can expected, because i learned new ways for to work and open my mind to learn something new everyday.

workload easily managable with basic life and skills experience and water technician skills required

typical day at work involves gaining information on job requirements, prep team, prep tools and equipment required, customer relations, complete job requirements and mitigate loss as much as possible, return tools and equipment, wright job overview, consumables, measurements and readings report. brushed up on how to delegate tasks according to abilities of co-workers. difficulties management faces with organization, communication, and outside influences such as insurance agency's and adjusters. involving co-workers in the entirety of the job process ensures efficiency. consistently explaining and demonstrating how to complete tasks with common sense and safety. satisfaction of clients when they see that not everything is lost and a lot can be saved or restored.
