Territory Sales Representative in Toronto, ON

Good environment.
Minimum beage position with possibly for commission on top. You must reach a sales quota each month to be eligible for commission (not paid on every sale unless reach $22,000 in sales for the month). If client cancelled the contract within one year of signing you get a claw back for the month they cancelled meaning your sales quota is larger for that month making it very difficult to reach. They do have alot of mandatory meetings to go to that takes time out of your sales time. It is a boys club type of feel and if you don't fit into that realm you will know it.

Gave them 10 years of quality expertise
After considering the poor management above location level I realized that this is just another insurance company. The focus is on prepaid sales after serving families in a vulnerable position and charging through the roof to do so. Over the 10 years I worked for them I watched them close 2 of the city's oldest and most successful funeral homes and sell the properties for huge profits to line the shareholders pockets and fund upper management's year end bonuses. If you are passionate about helping families in their time of heartbreak, Service Corporation International is NOT the place for you. If you are a cold hearted salesperson you will love it.

If your a women stay away
This is a very male dominated “Blue Suit” culture where women are treated different than men. That includes compensation and areas of discipline. There is a culture of the “boy’s club” and if your not aggressive enough then you will be taken advantage.

Be very careful - sounds good but it's not
Minimum wage with commission - if you can achieve their unrealistic sales quotas, all while contacting the same people off a client list that has been through the hands of 10+ sales staff over the course of 2 years. Management's sales approaches are dated, and bringing in new ideas is not going to get you far.

No integrity
Terrible place to work, vulnerable families treated as walking dollar signs. Emphasis on upselling over providing service to families. Insistence on padding sales by including contract items that provide no benefit that the client didn’t ask for.
