A typical day at work involves answering phone calls and assisting walk ins with there travel needs. They may not know what they want initially, but with the help of a travel agent, we do our best to create the experience they are looking for.
The hardest part of the job is that you are dealing with the public, people want the best for the best for the cheapest and you really have to have a backbone.
The salary is low and there is commission. However over a period of time with the company, unless you can reach your overall year goal, the commission is not there.
If you a passionate employee and build your clientele over a period of time, you could be very successful.
Hard to achieve goals in slow season.
