The original FinTech & RIA Specialist & Consultant - Five Star Brilliance
Regional Director (Former Employee) –  Oaks, PA6 May 2018
SEI is hands down the best in the industry for RIA practice management and truly understanding the critical importance of supporting the Advisor's value proposition. They are the original and best at digging into the concept of Outsourcing in my humble opinion. I learned so much from my Managing Director, Jim Ward, in my time there; however, the greater "Management" was not as hands-on due to the size and structure of the firm, which is why I gave the number of stars I did on that question. There was surely not work-life balance in my experience as we all worked tremendously hard with vigor and never looked at a clock. It is a wonderful firm full of bright thinkers doing only positive things and leaning into new areas of technology, investment sectors and research but all the while keeping people at the forefront and remembering that Advisors will lead the way versus AI. SEI is a fabulous company I cannot say enough great things about.

SEI is the best place to learn and grow in the wealth platform.

Workplace culture is very open and best.for different kind of cultural people.

Typical work day involves taking scrum with the offshore team and solving their queries.
Involved with the requirement meetings with the client also.

Great company but not so great department.
Private Equity Fund Accounting Analyst (Current Employee) –  Oaks, PA12 March 2018
The company has many benefits and has many opportunities but specifically the private equity fund accounting department is understaffed. Due to that people are overworked, underpaid, and managers under value employees.

Corporate culture, benefits, campus

Great Place to work
Sales Development Manager (Former Employee) –  Oaks, PA1 March 2018
Loved the culture at SEI. It's not for everyone as it's an open concept floor plan. Many perks, such as stock options, 3 weeks vacation to start (that was 12 years ago - may have changed), awesome cafeteria (many stations to choose from and decent pricing). Great people.

Productive workplace with good atmosphere
Mutual Fund Accountant (Current Employee) –  Oaks, PA27 February 2018
A typical work day is fast paced and full of many tasks that need to be completed at a certain deadline. Not much free time which is a good thing. Many opportunities to learn all the ins and outs of your field.
Pros
Great work environment where coworkers are willing to teach you
Cons
Often long work days

The culture at SEI is fun and unexpected. It is very unusual to have one of the largest individual art collections on display in you office. It makes for an incredible atmosphere and creative place to work.

Fast-Paced Work Environment
Fund Accounting Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Oaks, OK8 February 2018
The work my department does is mostly daily-deliverable. This creates a fast-paced work environment that keeps everyone busy and working hard. Management has done a fair job at allocating work that lends to each supervisors strengths and also challenges them.
Pros
Hour for lunch, open-forum work evironment (no cubicles)

The job was easy but they have a hard time keeping people so some overtime is required. Management is handled well and fellow employees are nice. I would recommend this job.

Good work life balance but lack of advancement
Operations Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Oaks, PA22 January 2018
Good work life balance but pay is lower than competitive companies. Also advancement opportunities are hard to come by. Average benefits but vacation is competitive.

great culture
Operations Analyst (Current Employee) –  Oaks, PA11 January 2018
culture is amazing. Do you think an organization should view all ideas as equally valid? Should the company's bottom line be the only mechanism that determines what idea is utilized? For example, employees in a company have an idea that the cafeteria should should accept credit cards to reduce traffic. This will cost the company money. It may not dramatically increase the bottom-line. However, one can argue that less traffic means employees will have more time eating than waiting in line. If employees are able to finish food earlier, they may be able to return to work earlier. Also, employees may become more grateful that they're able to finish their food without the long wait, therefore, causing them to perform better. What are your thoughts on this scenario or any scenario that is not causing increase to the bottom-line?

Never listen to people with experience
Account Benefits Manager (Former Employee) –  Oaks, PA26 December 2017
They hire under the premise that they want someone with experience then ignore their experience to promote recent graduates. Then they treat the experienced people as old and oblivious. So why hire the experience to ignore them.
Pros
work area open

no one values experienced employees

It follows Agile Methodology and learned to deliver things in a particular period of time, proper planning in advance, dealing with dependency on other teams etc.

All of the furniture at SEI is on wheels to reflect the dynamic culture. There is an open concept to promote collaboration and eliminate job titles as a barrier for communication.

Fun, exciting, innovative workplace
Analyst (Former Employee) –  Oaks, PA21 November 2017
Enjoyed my time at this company. Unfortunately with the spiraling economy at the time, there were many job cuts. Your horizons were unlimited - the focus was creativity, thinking outside the box - even for the most mundane type of role. The environment could be hectic/stressful at times (deadlines, etc), but the overall culture was pleasant.
Pros
Location, rewards for jobs well done, interaction with all levels of employee/management was encouraged
Cons
Open culture (no walls, structure) at times did allow for the slackers to excel
