It has benefits but that's about it
Daytime guard, access control (Current Employee) –  Dartmouth, NS13 December 2017
If you get into a site that didn't require talking or dealing with the office much you'll have more patience. However the sheer lack of organization, logic and sense shown but the scheduling staff is astounding. Very little care is given to client needs and even less care is given to Securitas employees.
Pros
benefits through Manulife
Cons
poor scheduling and communication

I looked after multiple areas in which I had to look after different stores to make sure they are secure. Often having to do long tours around the area to make sure it is secure.

Loss Prevention Officer (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB20 July 2017
There was no communication between the workers and management even when reaching out to management. Frustrations and concerns were never addressed. The scheduling was waited till last minute so it was hard to plan life around work

Not a great place to work.
Security Guard (Former Employee) –  London, ON10 July 2017
The management team was extremely under qualified, there were multiple times where guards would have to correct management on the procedures they should have been enforcing.
They cared very little about working with your life. You were guaranteed your job as long as your were ok with working terrible hours or barely getting any hours at all.
I'm not sure if the entire company is like this or if it's just the london office.
Avoid at all costs.

Installation Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON25 June 2017
Securitas is a great place for employment. The most enjoyable part of the job are the people I work with on a daily basis. The work day goes by very quickly as it is non-stop busy.

Executive Assistant to the President & CEO (Former Employee) –  North York, ON14 June 2017
Very fast paced environment. Trained in Administration as well as in the Financial aspects of the organization.

Management was very good.

Hardest part of the job was keeping up with the various departments for follow up, them being in different time zones.

Enjoyable part was learning various programs.
Pros
Parking for Executive staff

Long hours

Management out of touch with reality
Mobile Shift-Supervisor & Assistant Mobile Manager (Current Employee) –  Cambridge, ON11 May 2017
Overall one of the better security companies to work for. The industry is flawed as a whole but Securitas is a good employer to work for in the industry. The benefits are nice but the money is not good for supervisory positions. The senior management is out of touch with the reality of the industry and unfortunately chooses client care over their employees.

Terrible workplace with bad managers, schedulers, and coworkers
Security Guard (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 May 2017
Seems like this company doesn't really care about its physical security division. Companies are dropping contracts left and right. You have to chase after you scheduler to get a response, they don't answer their phones, or emails or texts.Your coworkers will regularly misbehave and act unprofessionally in the workplace, leave messes, take extra long breaks without notice, and generally behave like huge jerks.Even the receptionist and the other office people will look down on you for asking questions!
Pros
lots of hours (if you have a permanent site)
Cons
everything else

Security Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Ottawa, ON2 May 2017
At this posting it can be really good but it can also be very tiring. Working where I work has it ups and down in terms of how people react around you not knowing if they can trust you or not. They tend to judge you on what they hear or what you do.
