Besides the strange ownership structure from previous acquisitions and mergers, many executive level leaders have no trust in the people they work with, even those they hired themselves.They lack introspection and aren't able to take constructive criticism of their management methods while touting "culture" as the reason to force everyone into their generic office space.Grand visions of the future and the unwavering focus on implementing the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) despite it not fitting for the structure and not being used by all departments causes a lot of stress. It also gives managers an excuse for daily micro-management because of their fear of failure, lack of trust, and leadership insecurities.Be prepared to put every thought you have on their dozens of overlapping Monday.com boards while verbalizing those same points in the multiple weekly meetings to make sure everyone knows what everyone else is doing at all times.They're struggling to hire "the right" people and in 2023 have been losing multiple people a week from contributors up to vice presidents.Their hiring processes are extremely limited with untrained people in HR. I suggest taking over the interview and ask as many questions as you can about the manager and follow-up with what you understand in writing because things may not end up being as expected if you decide to take the role.

They participate in Calgary Corporate Challenge, They serve cake once a month for birthdays.

Cons

No trust, Confusing manager responsibilities, Daily stand-ups are an opportunity for your manager to yell at you, Unending sharing of daily tasks to everyone including the president.

Overworked and underpaid

Unfortunately this employer has taken a turn for the worst over the past 2 years. Each opportunity to take advantage of their employees has been taken. Pay cuts due to “covid” were never reinstated even though workload returned. More overworked, understaffed and underpaid than ever before. Company spends an incredible amount on business development and marketing but will have difficulty going forward if they cannot retain their talent. Large amount of turnover especially amongst long time employees as the culture has completely changed in the last year. Careful to not be swayed by false promises of large bonuses and eventual pay increases. They’re not coming.

Productive and Fun Place to work at.

Scovan is a very Productive and Great company to work with. It has a very fun working environment with Great staff/ colleagues. the hardest part of the job I faced was sometimes was working load was bit over whelming. and the most enjoyable part was all colleagues were very helpful.

Good work place as always there are fun activities

My experience working at Scovan has been wonderful as along with work there is always something for the employees like during the Stampede time, there is stampede week and during the Xmas time then again lot of fun activities.
