Underpaid for skills/service provided by teachers
Written by Teacher/Tutor (Former Employee) from Toronto, ON on 25 January 2019
Rewarding job, but very underpaid for skills provided as Teaching degree and Ontario Certificate are required. A typical shift is from 2 - 4 hours long at quite a low pay. It can also be quite chaotic at times especially with abrupt schedule changes as parents and/or students change their minds or miss a lesson. Work can be unsteady . The hardest - more... part of the job is meeting company's expectations of the teacher to complete tasks such as marking, making notes, providing differentiated instruction for 3 students and having students complete all work, while managing students' behviour as well. - less
