Do yourself a favour and don't work here
Busser (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON11 March 2019
The managers don't manage by example, they manage by power. Telling people what to do instead of helping out. The management team here is poor, from attitude to work ethic. All of it is low standards, except of course when the regional managers come in.

Do yourself a favour and work somewhere else. They try to promote their team as "family", but it's nothing more than feeling like an orphan at an orphanage doing his/her duties around the house and receiving no acknowledgement of their existence.

Lie to you from interview date and orientation. Treat you like dirt. Jokers for managers. Wayyyyy overpriced food. Overall pathetic operation. Trust me save yourself the headache and work somewhere else.

Literally a shitshow
BOH (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON30 January 2019
The benefits are that you get tip out and that the coworkers are usually awesome... besides that, get ready for either an abusive amount of hours or literally just one five hour shift in a week. The kitchen is a mess, the managers are often times rude (or overworked), they don't pay sick pay, there aren't enough bread knives or unbroken inserts/plates... They provide one jacket which won't be enough and will charge you $17 for every new one. If it's busy you should expect to stay potentially hours after you were scheduled to close. If it's slow they will try and send you home at any opportunity, or will ask you to clock out for an hour and then come back. There are no guaranteed breaks or bathroom breaks. They pay minimum wage and barely give you raises and expect the quality of work to reflect a paycheck that actually pays your bills. Two people just quit and walked off the line because they were so fed up. There's no free meals, just 50% off one entree (and when you have no breaks to eat it who cares).

Tread carefully when considering a job here.

Avoid if you can
Line Cook (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON16 January 2019
I actually liked working here but If you read the other reviews, you'll see that most people are complaining about the managers (in my case the KM's). They are 100% right. SOME are great. The rest of them start off ok in the beginning, and then you'll realize that they don't really care about you, no matter how much they pretend, and will start treating you badly soon enough. They have their favorites which is very obvious. They also don't work past like 10:00pm and if you pick up on their slack enough, they'll offer you a supervisor position and make you do their dirty work. If you work there for a long time you'll realize that it's a draining job, since most of the time you'll be working alone and if there's a rush, consider yourself lucky if you get any help. Only saute and sometimes grill get more than 1 person. The pay was ok but only supervisors get $17 hourly. When it comes time for them to get their bonuses, they will cut your hours and not say anything about it or even make an excuse as to why you have less days. This is not a fair workplace. You'll meet great people working here but is it worth it when you're suffering?

Free food (when the managers aren't around to see you take it)

people who work there are alright but the job is horrible. The hours were terrible and its always busy and people are always yelling that you need to work quicker no matter how fast you are going. Im telling you right now do not get this job. You will start at 5pm and you are very lucky if you get out at 1am.The whole time you are getting soaked and are sweating. On average youll get out at 2am take my warning and do not get this job espically if you are in highschool its trash

Server (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON12 July 2018
Fast paced and stressful. The steps of service and demand are very high and tedious. Micro managing is very present withing the management team. But hey if you like a challenge than this is the place for you

Managers are clueless
server (Former Employee) –  Yonge and gerrard19 June 2018
Every restaurant has its problems but this place is location is the worst restaurant i've worked at. Managers don't care about what your schedule actually says they pick and choose who they want to stay. You can be at this place for month/years and never move up from host or SA. They don't trust their staff and give them small section and give the same staff the opening and closing shifts to the same few people. Lastly the amount of surveys, tests and paper work you have to do once hired is insane, they give you 2 booklets to complete and you have a test at the end. totally unnecessary.
Cons
no organization, ignorant and inappropriate managers

Head Bartender (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON19 June 2018
A typical day at any family restaurant.
I've learned how to make do with what you are given as some of the structural and construction was done without consulting the right people.
In need of restructuring the management across the board.
Workplace culture is quite good in certain locations.

Scaddabush really prepares their employees and trains them to be ready for anything. The training process is long but I feel like it is needed in order to have strong employees, be able to work in teams, and maintain smooth running of the restaurant.

TEAM LEADER SERVER (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, ON25 March 2018
I worked here for over a year and a half as team leader. I was also number two on the list for our people metric surveys used for guest engagement. I was terminated without cause with no explanation. This company will use and abuse you. The management team is mediocre and you are expected to do way more than your job description with no rewards or incentives.

Productive and fun workplace with delicious food
EXPEDITOR/ COOK (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, ON6 March 2018
Many of the managerial staff were patient and helpful while training me, teaching me basic and advanced skills to help forward my productivity and efficiency. A typical day at work, depending on when your shift begins, can either be; set up your personal station, expected to be done on time and independently in order to tackle the day properly, waiting for guests to order and accommodate them as much as possible. Prepping ingredients and garnishes for dishes, clean your station as you go, stock up on plates, cutlery, take-out containers. If you started in the middle of the day, i.e 4:00 pm, all you do is switch with the person or assist them. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you complete a rush order or a party table with over 20 items on the cheque. The hardest part of the job is the extensive physical drain, being on your feet constantly in uncomfortable footwear can be exhausting, especially in a zesty kitchen.

Worse place to work
Line Cook/Prep Cook (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, ON13 January 2018
Bad GM, beetchin’ managers and supervisors. KM doesnt recognise the real hardwork of people thats why the good kitchen people left. You will exist here if you are a big time kiss arshe woker and chances are you will promoted too! but if you’re in to fair and equal treatement you will definitely will hate this place. The company wants you to take care of them but doesnt want to take care of you on slow down season. Only getting 4 hours shift for 2-4 days a week for a fact that you are a full time employee. Always print out and keep your hours worked because the managers are notorious of deducting hours. If you dont have print outs of the hours you worked you wouldn’t know if theres missing. Managers often walking back and forth with food plates on their hands freely but doesnt even care of their cooks already ate lunch or dinner. So if you plan to get a job from this place, please think twice and find somewhere else because I do not reccomend this kitchen ever!
Pros
Nice co-workers.
Cons
Maltreatment from your managers and supervisors.
