I enjoy working there

Indeed featured review

It is a great time to work at Value Village, but as expected of all workplaces, there are some down sides as well. As for my job interview, I applied, went for two interviews and was hired in the span of five hours.

workplace was more or less stressfull but it was a good place to work at.

I think value village is a high passed environment and you have to like what you are doing to be able to work there.

Productive workplace with good culture

some positions can guarantee 40 hour weeks (up to 50 in busier times) but other positions (like CDC) can suffer with as low as 28 hours per week lunch provided biweekly typically

Best thing about the work place

People are great that work there, supervisors at pretty laid back, but expect you to work. Benefits program and paid vacation are a bonus. Advancement seems like it's nearly impossible this would be the only down fall of this company

Pay more than minimum wage

Management got changed recently and are now more careful in making decisions. They want to improve. Hours can be flexible which is good. Good place to work.

It was a great experience!

I really enjoyed the staff, especially some of the supervisors. It can be a little hectic at times but it is also a really great place to make new friends and learn new things.

Really Bad

This company is extremely toxic towards its employees, and the management is just terrible. You are on your feet all day, and get paid barely above minimum wage. They schedule you in just below full time (if you are part time) so that they get the benefits and you don't. This place is a joke with how they preach about family, community and acceptance. Management and supervisors are very passive aggressive, and gossip about employees as if in high school. Extremely unprofessional. Save yourself the stress, low self-esteem and wasted time. Do not apply or work here.

Pros

Sometimes free lunches

Cons

Everything else

Fun work place but very productive

Always something to be done, never sitting around. Lots of hands on working, so much inspiration and commitment from that place. Overall a wonderful work environment.

Pros

Family like people

Cons

Lots of hands on work like lifting and walking

Good People

Good people to work with, under .50 wage increase per 1/yr. Not enough pay for the physical work they require, the work will eventually take it's toll on your body, back especially. During quiet season expect to loose hours as well.

Pros

Nice people

Cons

Poor pay/wage increases, physical work, hours cut during quiet season

Not a good place to work

It was a good place to work when I started but now it's to the point I don't want to go to work. They say you can advance within the company ya right. I have been asked over and over for the last 4 yrs ( come Dec. ) if im interested im becoming a supervisor and i keep saying yes and I am always put on the back burner when the opportunity comes up. now there are 2 people who haven't even been there for 6 months training for supervisor. IT'S all favortizim not experience or synority . Turn around is very high always new staff. time to find a new job cant work were your not appreciated.

Pros

Made some friends

Cons

Cant get a regular shift. to much favortizim

Great team working environment

A fast paced, ever busy environment Offering a great deal on setting and meeting targets and deadlines A very supportive management style Very friendly and motivating co-workers Managing a sales day seem to me the hardest part of the job Meeting the targets and deadlines comes with some incentives.

Productive

The days were repetitive but there was always something to do. I learned to work at a good steady pace to get things done in time. I found nothing to hard about the job, the most enjoyable part would be tagging the clothes or pricing them.

Pros

the benefits

Cons

constant repetition
