Productive place that works with a non profit to help support local communities.

Indeed featured review

-Full time hrs 8-4:30 Mon.-Fri. -Sort through all the donations to put out the best ones. -10,000 new items get put out daily. -Start out the shift by resetting the store so that items are in their proper place and old items that didn't sell get taken off and recycled. -Two separate parts in the store to work in: The Sales floor and the Production room. -Hardest part was keeping up with your quotas. Everything is on a timed basis. -Hands on training from Management as well as team members. -Everyone got along well. Family atmosphere. -A for profit company that has a relationship with a non profit.

Pros

50% off discount. Benefits

Job culture

Nice place to work but the job is tiresome.

The workplace culture and environment is impressive, and the relationship between coworkers and with the managers is good. The difficult part of the job is having body pains when you get back home which hinders you from completing other important activities like completing your assignments from school an studying for the next day. I felt CDC Ambassadors should be paid a bit higher than the minimum wage which ordinary cashiers earn, due to job dynamics and the unpredictable stressful hours when there is a donation 'craze' since most donor go to Value Village to purposely dump their old stuff especially when it is in a bad condition.

Pros

Good management team and team members

Cons

Very tiresome job, Hardly do shifts overlap so you work alone

Horrible Company to work for

This company is all about the money and has little to know consideration for it's employees. When you reach your quotas they will double them the next day. It is very dirty and dusty with no ventilation. Safety issues aren't taken seriously unless it is the 'higher ups' who suggest them. Quantity over quality is definitely the goal of this company. A lot of stress with little to no pay off. Employees are disposable! Don't work for this company if you have children as they will expect you to chose them over you children or risk termination.

Pros

Decent benefits, great co workers

Cons

Management doesn't care about workers, low pay, terrible working conditions

Great group of employess

the staff i worked wither here were amazing, the only complaint i could have is the dust and allergens, as well as the work and life balance as some days we were required to work weekends even though upon hire it was stated to be a mon-friday day shift. however the management team as well as the employees were a great crew to work for and with and it has a family friendly crew and you always felt like your fellow employees become family.

Worst place i have ever worked for

long story short they didn't treat employee's with respect, Poor management, not enough people hired or trained, no punishment for people not listen to rules like missing work not calling in, Poor communication skills throughout the company, and to top it off they wouldn't give me my vacation pay when i wanted i waiting over a month for it, now i'm on stress leave because of my overall experience working at value village just mentally cant work with a company going in the wrong direction, There was so many more examples but i would be here all day lol

Pros

not to much

Cons

to many
