Food Service Worker, Sault Ste. Marie, ON - 13 April 2018
The Dietary department is an interesting and busy department. On a typical day a worker would assist as many as 40 patients. Our duties include bringing food to the patients, picking up thier solied trays. You must have a thorough understanding of various diets and why food limitations are put in place for patients. The worplace culture is a caring, educated atmosphere where senior staff are always there to help junior staff with questions. The hardest part of the job is that we are faced with constant hard deadlines to meet throughout our day because the patients must be fed in atimely manner. The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that I take part in helping patients to recover.
