The District Manager Manager Makes Working There Horrible
I really loved my job at Sally Beauty when I started. I love to talk about hair, makeup, etc. Unfortunately, the district manager needs to go ASAP. She has ridiculed my co-worker for not wearing makeup, and having her hair in a bun, overly pressured us to reach unrealistic sales goals, and was generally not nice to the employees. I love this company so much and would love to go back but the DM needs to go. Not to mention I was disciplined for talking a customer out of buying a highly negative reviewed set of hair extensions ($200 each). There is also little to no training about doing chemical processes on your hair so be sure to take what is said with a grain of salt.

Like the people I work with but upper management are rude
Working at sally beauty can be really fun and rewarding, when helping customers with products to fit their needs. Upper management is not the best, they are very rude. You are asked to meet high goals when in reality it’s not realistic when you aren’t super busy. I had to reimburse the company $30 when they accidentally made a mistake with my check for going to the bank for them. $30 dollars isn’t much and I didn’t mind paying back, but they hounded us for it. Just shows how much sally beauty is failing.

Amazing job
I absolutely loved working in this location, we all worked really well together , helped each other with sales, I had school and the manager worked around my schedule, very supportive. I didn’t return after furlough, miss working here

Happy, supportive environment
I worked at the Bowmanville location for two years, loved the management and staff. Schedule worked around my school hours, great incentives and employee discount, amazing samples

Fun place, awful district management
It can be a great place BUT district management in the gta has clear favourites and treats the rest of us like garbage. No matter what we do it’s a negative. We’re in a pandemic and rather than u set stand some of us are stressed, they watch us on camera to see if our masks are on 100% of the day-but we can’t expect our customers to wear them. The pay is a joke, u get in trouble if u stay over your hours even though we need to help people and they love to think you’ll spend your own money on stuff for the store. I can’t wait to find something else so I can leave

Nothing crazy

Shared on 11 September 2018

As the manager, I performed all interviews with potential candidates. You are supposed to follow an interview guide made by the company that makes you feel like you’re asking the most useless, asinine questions that will tell you absolutely nothing about the person you are interviewing. I used to only use the guide as a reference and made up my own questions.
