Best store to work!

Indeed featured review

Amazing team and fun work place. If you love fashion you will deal with very famous brands. Management really cares about you and they do the best to accommodate the staff needs

Career progression and nice environment

Schedule changes

Staff was extremely friendly but management had favourites and showed that through scheduling and the way they treated you at work. the environment at work was toxic and always stressful as we were always short staffed due to the amount of people quitting

Good place to work

Overall good experience, able to balance home and life and there was a opportunity for advancing! The only downside is not having a set schedule!Would recommend!

Pleasant work place

Only AP in the store would be better with a team.

Pay, benefits are good for my position

Mangement talks about you behind your back. A lot of fake personality in upper mangment, they are kind to you, to your face. They will throw you under the bus though. Very toxic work culture.Pay and bonus is good, that is the only good thing I have to say about this company.

Management Ruin it

OFF 5th is a pretty chill place to work and they are pretty good at working with your schedule for the most part. Biggest issue is that for students they won't let you book off a single day in the Christmas season so if you have exams good luck. They give a good amount of breaks and have pretty good hours so depending on your department you can get a good amount of time in. Biggest issue is the management tends to be really aggressive and push you a lot to do whatever they want in terms of taking extra shifts and they are really rude when it comes to needing time off be it for sick days or family emergencies. Or management is completely useless and you need to fend for yourself

Good breaks. Easygoing environment

Pushy management. Useless managers. Can't book off for exams in the winter

Staff needs improvement

Brainless work. Staff was accommodating for the most part. Key holders were all nice, willing to work with you and teach you things or give you some tasks to break up the day. Management was average. HIGH turn over. Most are students called in sick or were late on a daily basis. A very small amount of core staff. Most days it seemed like a task for other employees just to say hi to you when walking onto the sales floor at the beginning of your shift. Seemed like the manager had to overcompensate on staff friendliness.

Good discount

Poor management Poor staff High turnover

Good workplace

The management specifically GM and ASM really made it hard for others to work well. The nature of this company is hard for one to move forward without a good salary increase.

low salary pay

Didn't feel valued or welcomed in the work environment

More responsibilities were placed on some more than others, and it seemed there was a divide as management picked "favourites." It was a chill place to work overall, but what made it stressful was feeling undervalued and simply not enough. This store is notorious for bad reviews and poor customer service, however if you are committed to the customers and helping others, it is a positive and enjoyable experience trying to help people find what they are looking for, or finding alternatives that work for them. You learn a lot of problem solving skills and you learn to multi-task in a big store with lots to do.

Friendly and amicable coworkers

Great collaborative environment

Saks has a great collaborative environment that makes all associates feel involved. Working at Saks makes you feel like you are doing important work, and you are able to build many relationships and there is lots of opportunity for growth within the company.

Very fun and Relaxed work place

I only worked as an inventory associate but it was a very enjoyable time. The management was very inclusive and treated all the workers fairly. Made great memories as well

No fun.

The management was very friendly, but I don't think they valued employees correctly. The work put in by the workers didn't match what they received in short hours, lay offs and an unpleasant work space.

Horrible Experience (Vaughan)

I had been working for the Vaughan location for 2 years when I decided to quit. Management were fully aware of bullying by co-workers but failed to take action, talk negatively about employees without realizing we would all hear (break room attatched to their office). So many people decided to leave because management went so downhill after 3 original managers left. Just my experience

Under staff. Management lacks communication

for a minimum wage job the amount of work load is too much. managers back stabbed each other in front of employees and communication with the management team is very poor

Shoe associate

Organizing and training for the shoe department, I earned 14.36$ per hour, management was fine, workplace culture was appropriate, the most enjoyable part of the job was making customers happy.

Productive place to work

Ensuing each customer was greeted and helped. Building a great rapport with staff and customers. Building a sale through adding on UPT to the transaction

Saks was a mediocre place of work.

The customers at Saks always made your day more fun and interesting, but the upper management did not treat employees very well. There was no work/life balance, even though it is retail, and that is the sacrifice of retail, asking for time off for any situation was a headache. Even with the situation of a death in the family.

Productive workplace where I learnt to interact with customers

The company enhanced my skills and abilities. Gaining customer service experience of more than a year give an extra edge to other candidates. Advising customers was a major part of my job duty. Also, actively doing transactions at the checkout proved me to be an expert on the floor as well on the till.

Amazing Managment & Team

Have never worked anywhere better. Staff is extremely kind and encouraging and everyone gets along, which makes the shifts go by so quick. Some of the best managers I have ever had. They treat you like a person and do their fair share of the work if it is needed on the floor! Can't speak for the rest of the OFF 5TH stores but if you need a great part time job during school that won't kill your mood and is actually enjoyable this is a great place to start.

amazing staff, great discount, fun environment

Pretty good job

I worked at OFF 5th for 5 months. the manager was doesn't do anything and just sits in his office all day. assistant manager was amazing and actually trained me and helped me with tasks. manager would just come around and criticize and make godawful jokes. department supervisors do way more work than they're paid for and have little opportunity to advance. the discount was nice but you need to buy things on a company credit card with $100 limit. inventory nights were long and hard and the food they supplied was bad but paid well. scheduling is flexible especially for a student. overall I would recommend working here as a part-time job

Poor training, good employees, good discount, flexible schedule

Little advancement, poor pay, company credit card
