Program Manager (Current Employee) –  Montréal, QC6 March 2018
In general it'a great place to work, the people is totally worth it, and we have good benefits, and a good balance between work and life. It's also very flexible and supportive, as organization. They have many tools available for the employees, to help them develop not only on the professional field.
Pros
Great benefits, great professional growth tools, commitment with community
Cons
Terrible management, poor prioritization of work, goals are moving targets.

Leaves little time for Family
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON14 August 2017
Consulting with SAP is very demanding. The travel requirements are immense and can really drag a person down. By being always assigned to projects, you may find you are the forgotten revenue source. That is, you will never interact with your bosses, or the firm's executives. You will bill lots of money for them, somewhere, and you will only ever hear from them when you make a mistake.
Thus, recognition for all your sacrifice is very poor.
The salary is good, and you will learn a great deal, but you will likely feel very isolated as a consultant.
Pros
learn a lot
Cons
Work, work, work, sleep, do laundry, head back to work.

The SAP Culture
SUPPORT ENGINEER (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON26 August 2015
SAP provides a fun work environment with supportive management. Not all about numbers however performance is to be expected. E-learning materials (some free, some cost-restricted) allow employee's opportunities to grow and develop. As the corporation is looking to implement a global LEAN culture, many colleagues wonder whether this includes eliminating employment positions as well.
Pros
Tax benefit lunches, 4 weeks vacation

Great learning experience
Facilities Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, ON23 January 2015
I usually started at 8:30am and would check my e-mails, clean up the kitchens, bathroom and meeting rooms. I would then do a walk-through of both floors of SAP and make sure everything was okay (emergency exits, first-aid stations, lights etc). I would then proceed to check the mail and distribute the mail to the employees. The hardest part of the job was getting familiar with the SAP network and Microsoft Office Outlook. I am now very familiar with Microsoft and am very grateful for the experience at SAP because it taught me a lot about facilities and reception. I learned organization, customer service skills, computer/fax/printer skills and also learning to communicate properly with outside vendors. The most enjoyable part of working at SAP were the other employees and management.
Pros
Fully accessible kitchen with coffee and tea
Cons
Hours constantly changing

Great at investing in employee through training
Solution Consultant/Pre-Sales Engineer (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON23 January 2015
SAP is a great company to work for, but it has its share of problems. There is a constant stream of company sponsored training courses available to ALL employees, even if the courses are specifically focused to one department. Compensation is top notch and a healthy life-work balance is always encouraged.

Unfortunately the company is very large and suffers from a lot of bureaucracy and red tape. It likes to think it is as agile as any software start up, but it is very set it in its ways and ultra conservative. At the end of the day ANY position in the company is at the mercy of a DELETE key on some executives Excel spreadsheet. There is no loyalty among employees because they all sense this. The employees are just there for a pay check as long as they can. It's unfortunate because there is a lot of talent that SAP has acquired by gobbling up smaller software companies. Only to be squandered by letting the need to have a good quarter dictate what departments / workers are let go without a second thought.
Pros
Training and investment in employees
Cons
No loyalty to employees and squandering talent

High stress environment
Sales (Current Employee) –  Toronto7 April 2014
High stress environment makes it impossible to have work/life balance. Expectations are that you are available 24x7x365 - no excuses. They pay well but culture has a long way to go. They talk a good game but do not practice what they preach.
Pros
Good benefits, global company with opportunities worldwide. Great people.
Cons
long hours, lack of mgmt support, unrealistic expectations.

Typical HardCore Sales Role
SALES EXECUTIVE (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC22 December 2012
Every Q-end they tell you how this is the most critical qtr of the year and try to work you to death..if you're on top the managers are your best friends but stay there b/c you can go from HERO to ZERO in one week.. And they treat you like a stranger.

If you hot your number you should be making from 100-150 depending on multipliers..

Since SAP bought out BusinessObjects the culture is horrible because of the stress from the geniuses in upper management.
Pros
income potential
Cons
being treated like your a child
