Good benefits, but low salary

The benefits are great, namely, the 90% coverage of dental care and the $700 yearly chiropractic/massage benefit. You also get 50% off of your and your spouse’s plan. However, the pay was very low for Vancouver. I’d recommend this for anyone who is looking for their first job, or for new immigrants who haven’t settled down completely. It’s a good place to start from, but not somewhere you’d want to stay forever.

. Enjoy fun working environment set up to celebrate KPI's and Quality, Sales and other targets being met.

ROGERS has aways been a diverse organization! The culture of the organization has always included ALL cultures, languages, veterans, abilities, ethnicities, genders, orientations, and age groups, and individuals who contribute their experience and ideas to move the company forward. It is a very good company to work for!

Pros

Fair, Team oriented, Fun Activities set up in teams or between team, Sales Incentives, Great Benefits

Cons

Must be available days, evenings, and weekends. Must have the ability to adapt to working in fast-paced, ever-changing, competitive work place.

Good place to start career in Canada. Temporary employees are mistreated.

You will learn a lot there. However, you will always be looked at as a person who is less qualified than others if you are a contractor. If you speak up you will be punished by ending the contract. Promotions and getting a permanent job are very hard to get even if you hit your target consistently.

Pros

Learning

Cons

Politics and constant organizational changes, Low salary for contractors despite doing the exact job as the permanent employees

Money is Horrible, No Work Life Balance

The Executive are all about the Leading edge communications, diversity, but they don't practice what they preach. Pay is horrible and not competitive. Management has no say. Can't keep staff and always training. Their is a reorg every year. With covid laid off all company contractors and their work fell on all the rest of the exisiting employee. Don't look for recognition at all as you won't get it. Run for the hills, so many other companies better to work for. Keep your eyes down and don't ever speak your mind.

Pros

Employee Discount

Cons

Everything

Training was good

There were always classes to keep you up to date with new features their system was easy to maneuver. Management on the other was not readily available. You basically had to figure things out for yourself if a manager wasn't available

Workplace pressure happens too often, too much time and effort is wasted on daily meetings and updates.

Working for Rogers is professionally rewarding, but the feeling of being pushed to the limit is a daily occurrence. This is understandable considering the demanding and customer based nature of the business. My job requires me to coordinate with contractors for technically correct and feasible design leading up to actual implementation or construction. It would make a big difference if daily meetings for updates are reduced to weekly. I believe it breaks down the focus and momentum of projected jobs on hand. My feeling on daily updates and meetings only reflect the management's level of trust and capacity of its staff.

Best place to start and learn.

Rogers is a good place to start customer service and administrative career. You will learn basic skills and knowledge to build you for the future challenges and career goals. Rogers has a corporate working culture and the managers, support teams act with professionalism. The benefits from the management to the employees are awesome and tremendous. The starting might be rough and challenging but if you thread by the rules, patience and empathy, you will move up the ladder and understand the working principles more.

Pros

Lots of gifts and benefits.

Cons

No stable shifts.

Great salary if you don’t mind the mental health decline

Rogers is a great company to work for if you’re extremely competitive on sales and trying to be number one. (Call centre) They do pay you well BUT because of how stressful the job is and how management is always watching your every single move and every second you take not on calls is a problem. Very micromanaged. Also majority of people working there have gone on or will go on a mental health leave because it becomes too much.. no matter how strong willed you are.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, discounts

Cons

Micromanaged, takes a toll on your mental health

Great promises but no delivery

Onboarding/training was great....until you are on the phones without any real training in the systems you need to know to actually do your job! They kept focusing on soft skills and day 1 stuff on day 30 but gave no actual training on these systems-which were archaic, finicky and time consuming to work in. Management was ok but other departments not quick to respond. Lots of resources but no training on how to use them.

Pros

Benefits on day 1 remote work

Cons

Very stressful, not responsive to employee feedback

A great place to start, a great place to end, but terrible to stay for the long haul

Rogers Communication is an incredible company to start your career. They offer competitive benefits, competitive starting salaries, and a flexible work schedule depending on the department.Rogers Communication is also an incredible company to end your career at. Their (now cancelled) Defined Benefits Pension plan was unmatched in the industry, and their stock share plan is incredibly generous.Rogers Communication is a terrible place to build your career. While they do have yearly reviews, they seldom do industry-standard salary matching. Compensation increases are done very poorly, and as all large companies, it is riddled with nepotism.

Pros

Great brand name, great benefits

Cons

Old fashion "Boy's Club" leadership, nepotism, and no room to grow your career

No support or advancement

If you have a good manager then the job can be okay but most of the current team in London was just grandfathered in from when it was a video store and have no business leading sales teams. If you want to move up look elsewhere, even moving to busier stores can be a struggle. The job itself is easy enough but targets are unrealistic compared to traffic and depending in the manager alot of pressure is put to increase sales

Pros

Christmas party

Cons

Inconsistent hours, no support, little flexibility

Good experience to have

The employees make the job worth it. Great work culture and depending on your manager, you will be very well supported and understood. You learn a lot about customer service and yourself and there is room for advancement. If you’re an anxious person or if you have mental health problems, I advise you be careful because the clients can be overwhelming. A lot of employees have taken leave because of this. Rogers offers many services to help with these situations such as helplines. Expect the transition to be challenging, but it’s good experience to have.

Pros

Pot lucks (precovid), events, support

Cons

Stressful

You need to be confident and stand your ground

People had the habit of passing the work to anyone that would take it. It was a constant challenge to only do work you were responsible for. What I was responsible for I enjoyed doing very much.

Pros

Flex work from home & hours

Cons

Long hours
