Nice place to work.

I enjoy working here. The place gets better each year. The company is always investing in new machinery and training to make the work experience better. If you want a place where you can grow and learn give Riverside a chance.

A Wonderful Place to Grow and Thrive

I honestly can't say enough good things about Riverside Millwork Group. As a recent college re-grad stepping into a new career, the job hunt was overwhelming, to say the least. I was looking for not just a job, but a place where I could truly develop my skills and grow both professionally and personally. Riverside Millwork Group has turned out to be exactly that place.First off, the company culture here is just amazing. There's a collaborative spirit in the air that makes even the toughest projects feel doable. From day one, I felt welcomed by a team that was not just skilled and professional, but genuinely friendly and supportive. We're more than just coworkers here; we're a team working towards common goals, and it makes all the difference in the world.Special shoutout to my boss, who is not just a manager; she's a mentor and a coach. She’s got this patient, encouraging vibe that has been super crucial as I navigate these first months out of college. She makes the effort to share her wealth of knowledge, while also encouraging me to push my boundaries and contribute my own ideas. Honestly, it’s one thing to have a boss who listens, but another to have one who makes you feel heard and valued.

Pros

Company culture, supportive environment

Cons

no benefits for contracts

One of the worst places I have worked

Total chaos is the best way to describe this place. I was hired and thrown on the job with zero training. I was talked to like I was a piece of garbage and was constantly insulted. Many promises made that weren't kept including pay raises and job advancements etc. Majority of the people were good to work with minus a select few. A lot of finger pointing and blaming at this place. Certain people never own up to their own faults and just blame others for their own mess ups. I was constanly told to do unsafe work like climb stairs to the very top rack in the warehouse and carry things down the stairs with no points of contact (which you are suppsoe to have 3 points of contact at all times on those stairs). If I mentioned anything being unsafe I would be yelled at.My advice is to run the other way from this place if you see a job posting unless major changes have happened.

Reliable and committed coworkers

Management is a positive point!Employees working more than 10 years .Opportunities to grow. The owners know the staff and make them part of the family.

Pros

Former employee

Management is god like and treat you very poorly. Micro manages everyone. No trust. Extreme verbal and emotional abuse by Management. Not who they pretend to be.

Not a family business

The work itself is great (from carpentry perspective) dealing with management or requesting proper compensation, better work conditions or even the tools required to complete tasks, you will be met with nothing but hostility and rude dealings. If you're a professional in your trade do not waste your time with this very poorly managed company.

Was a great place to work

After 2.5 years working for riverside doing everything in my power to make it successful just to get to take a slap in the face. I wish them all the best and I really feel sorry for the people who continue to work for this company!! If you think you have a life with them all I can say is good luck! I wouldn't recommend this company.

You better love your starting salary.

You better love your starting pay because thats what you will be stuck with. They make empty promises about future raises, promotions, and bonuses.Riverside over promises and under delivers. Both to it's employees and to it's customers. It has a great culture if by "culture" you mean company pizza parties.

Pros

Nobody tells you what to do

Cons

Nobody tells you what to do

Great work atmosphere, Positive, friendly and great employees

Riverside is all about there employees, managers have a great attitude and it is a positive working experience. Is probably the best work environment I had ever worked in. Anyone looking for employment I would suggest applying. Many perks

Energetic and Inclusive Work Environment

I feel encouraged and supported by my coworkers and management staff, they have helped me greatly in my first couple months to adjust to a new work Environment. There are a few large learning curves, but Riverside provides the right tools and backing to help accomplish my tasks successfully with confidence. I enjoy the enthusiasm I see in the staff, as everyone works together towards a common goal.

Pros

Free Lunches

You feel part of a family

Every company has items to work on, but that doesn't mean it should be viewed as always negative. Riverside is a fast growing and ambitious firm, with momentum gaining because of its leadership, and each and every single employee’s contribution. Remember, with growth comes 'growing pains' here and there. This said, the owners and management will truly listen and embrace your ideas wherever possible to ease those pains.Riverside makes you feel at home. They provide opportunities for growth. It's exciting and new everyday. Glad I joined the family!

Pros

They listen

Cons

Ongoing changes

Productive and fun workplace

I have been with Riverside for the past 4 months and have really enjoyed my time so far. There are not many companies that show their appreciation for all of their team members by providing lunches and other rewards for their employees. My work environment is amazing, I really enjoy the people I work with, we work as a team and are always there to help when needed.

Pros

They reward their employee in many different ways.

Lots of Changes For The Worse!!!

This used to be such a great place to work, but alot of changes has started to destroy motivation. HR Director is awful, not a people person, talks down to staff, can't recruit anyone to stay. This has lead to a huge drop in culture and motivation. New managers are hired over experienced staff and these managers stay for a month a get fired. Exhausting. Onsite leadership is great! It was why I stayed longer than I should have.

Fast Paced, Fun workplace

Take the good with the bad...I have worked in alot of different palces both construction and production. NOTHING is perfect, Riverside has good leadership, and great teams with in the company, and is still growing. There is a lot of potential here. If you have experience in construction and know how to stay productive and organized while having fun this is the place for you. If you are able to point your finger at yourself first then you will be successful. Negative people do not do well.

What inflation????

No raises for staff with inflation going higher and higher. Soo bad! No communication in Waterloo, everyone on warehouse floor is looking for another job. Soo short staffed with no appreciation of all the extra work. New HR Director is awful to deal with. Do yourself a favour and stay away.

Pros

Friday lunches

Cons

Management

Positive work environment with lots of support, opportunity for growth, and good culture

I really enjoyed working at Riverside. Right from my interview I was treated with respect by my colleagues and manager. There is a sense of family within this company and as long as you work hard and have a good attitude you will have opportunity for growth. There is a wide variety of career paths in this company with opportunities for additional training. My favourite part of working here was the fact that I was given the tools to do my job correctly and efficiently, and once I earned the trust then I was not micro-managed. I would highly recommend Riverside as an employer.

Professional, productive and an absolute positive environment

From day one, I started with no experience and I was welcomed and humbled by everyone’s acceptance to provide knowledge and education about Riverside. Each and everyday is an exciting, interactive day with all departments of the company. Everyone from the sales team, to the closet and cabinet team, to management. The marketing team continues to have events that include all team members to ensure morale is up and to keep everyone included. All members of management are actively hands on ensuring production is on time as well as to address any issues. I have never dragged my feet to come to start my day at Riverside. Their core value is family, and that’s how I’ve always felt!

Pros

Effective communication, lunches, swag, growth

Work Well, Treated Well

What makes a job more than a paycheque? Is it a great group of people that want to see each other succeed? Is it small tokens of appreciation for a job well done? Is it a leadership group that cares about you the person as much as you the employee? All of these questions would be answered positively here at Riverside. The only colleagues I've seen not have success are ones who expected everything to come to them and not put in any effort. Hard work is rewarded with recognition and where applicable, advancement. If this is what you're looking for, stop looking and join us.

Pros

Support, work swag

They say all the right things, but don't back up why they say

Absolute chaos with no leadership. Outside teams make daily errors with orders making drivers and labourers have too work harder for there screw-ups. Nothing is ever done about this but happens everyday. Managers are outside smoking 10 times a day because there so stressed out and both owners are there daily but don't talk to anyone, walk right by you like your not there. Only feedback you ever get is negative. Nice people working in warhouse but are not managed everyone is frustrated with all the errors and extra work.

Pros

Friday lunches, nice people in warehouse.

Cons

No leadership or positive feedback from owners or Managers, Outside Teams do whatever they want and drivers and labourers suffer
