My job at sporting life helped me to open up more to people, i was a sales associate and at first i found it a little bit awkward to walk up to someone and ask them if they needed help but by the end of my time there i was totally comftorable with it and even enjoyed helping some people.
Pros
got discounts for some of the products for sale in the store
Cons
dealing with certain customers that were not pleasant
Summer Camp Volunteer (Former Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 14 May 2018
I know a lot of people hate working with kids, but I found it really exciting. I got a lot of free food from this. I would likely do it again if I get the chance.
Citizen (Current Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 6 April 2018
There is too much construction on the main roads - access to freeways is very limited. Public transportation is steadily improving and currently fits expectations of public transportation.
Lifeguard/Swim Instructor (Former Employee) – Richmond Hill, ON – 31 October 2016
A lot of the staff were high school aged kids. Social events and keeping up morale was the focus on a lot of outside events. Happy staff made you enjoy swimming and teaching so much more. Everyone was able to have fun and get all the required work done. A lot of supervisors and staff go above and beyond to create an amazing work environment!
Pros
Free meals after training, social events, lots of hours
Cons
political advancement, over capacity swims, faulty equipment
