Revera is all about Greed and Power.
Staff (Current Employee) –  British Columbia20 February 2018
Pls do not put your loved ones in here. They only care about your money. Marketing tours are padded up with exaggerations...I've been with the company for so long...no career growth as they prefer to externally hire
ego-driven managers who have no idea what they're doing. Residents are paying too much for services they could find better elsewhere. The only reason this company is still running are the dedicated staff (not managers), whom residents have grown to love and treat as family. That is why our senior residents stay despite the ridiculous yearly increasing rent they pay.
Pros
Extended health benefits
Cons
Incompetent managers

Director (Current Employee) –  Mississauga, ON22 November 2017
Very rewarding working with older adults.
Business has shifted goals a number of time and clarity has been foggy.
They truly do care about their senior residents.

They can be trigger happy with terminating people and hand out very poor severances - people have been blind-sided. Lack of transparency - don't post the salary ranges for each job level.
Pros
location, head office exposure to C-suite, Compassion for Residents
Cons
shifting major priorities - lack of transparency - cheap severances.

you dont get a meal break just go straight to 8 hours without break, otherwise the tasks cannot be done within your shift.

it is busy but seldom learn anything new or valuable. it is not full scope of practice. not a good place to learn new things. Too many residents for medication pass.

pay rate is too low.
Pros
8 hour unit shift, no travel

I had a great time working at Revera. Everyone there was very respectful and helpful. We even had quite a few awesome events e.g. dunk the executives into water to raise money for charity

No management help onsite. Rarely seen or heard from bosses. Left to do your work and only negative feedback ever given. Pay is good, but only contract work, no room for advancement, no pay raises in 10 years, same contract always.

Personal Support Worker (Former Employee) –  Oshawa, ON4 November 2015

Would work for them again in a heart beat!

Not really impressed - no comment
Visiting Community RN (Former Employee) –  Hamilton/Burlington16 April 2015
The job is paid piecemeal (per visit) which sounds impressive at first... but when you factor in the hours of unpaid administrative work you have to do in your own time... you are working for not much more than minimum wage. They pay under the going rate for your gas and no travel time or wear and tear on your vehicle.
