Job culture
Run for the hills.
Somehow this company won an award for best 'corporate culture'. The culture here couldn't be any more toxic. Dishonest unethical technicians are praised and win monthly awards while good, sound technicians are looked down upon for their honesty and integrity. Management hasn't got a clue what they are doing, and they do not know how to keep team morale in good standing, technicians are often pointed out their short comings (always lack of sales related) and are rarely praised for what they do well. Management flat out ignores when a technician does dishonest practices to customers to get more sales leads, and basically encourages this behaviour. Technicians are not trained whatsoever, the only training ever received is sales training. A 2 tiered union environment also puts technicians against each other. This is a toxic place to work and if you hold strong ethics and want to be a good honest technician I would stay as far away from this company as possible

Honestly most organized and determined company i have worked for
Since starting at Reliance I have had nothing but success, from day one I was shown proper training on the systems we use. The goals are set high but that's what makes companies grow, and all of these goals are achievable. I have reached them every month since beginning work here. Would highly recommend this company if you are driven by success and looking to grow as a technician.
Pros
Consistent work, Great pay and benefits
Cons
Longer hours during peak season but doesnt bother me

Career path with opportunity
I have worked for many different HVAC companies. Reliance is the only company that gives lots of perks. As a technician your ticket renewals are paid for, work boot allowance, all tools (including hand tools) supplied, truck, phone, benefits, pension. Good Safety practices. If you want to advance all training, courses and college are paid for. When in trade school they even top up your wages! Yes you are required to hit certain metrics but that is part of work. We are getting paid to do it. The smaller HVAC companies offer none of this.
